Brooklyn’s own, Papoose, recently released his latest Mixtape with DJ Kay Slay and StreetSweepers. For those who’ve never heard him, he’s a Monster on the mic! One of the most lyrical and clever rappers to come out in years. Which is probably why he was the Winner of the Best Underground Mixtape Artist of the Year at the Justo’s Mixtape Awards, this past March.
Unforunately, as you all know, Justo Faison passed on recently. The Hip Hop community was rocked, especially the Mixtape DJ’s and Artists. For his dedication to Justo, Papoose rhymed over Nas‘ “Just A Moment,” keeping the meaningful hook by Quan as apart of his track. He big ups Justo and speaks on the importance of the DJ’s in Hip Hop music. Kay Slay also speaks at the end a little about carrying on Justo’s Legacy.
