Charleston, SC: The Carolina King, DJ Chuck T of Charleston, SC joins the likes of P.Diddy, Jay-Z, Usher, Fat Joe, Kanye West, James Prince, and countless others in the hip-hop community who are donating money from their personal income to help victims of the hurricane.

New Orleans is considered the モMeccaヤ of southern rap music and has given birth to multi-platinum selling artists Juvenile, Master P, Lilメ Wayne, Mystical, and Young City. New Orleans is also the area that sustained the most damage from the Hurricane Katrina leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless. Founded by New Orleansメ own hip-hop mogul, and visionary Master P. (Percy Miller) and his wife Sonya Miller, Team Rescue One is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to aiding families who suffered from Hurricane Katrina. Team Rescue One has teamed up with The American Red Cross, local government officials, rescue organizations and other relief funds to provide emergency housing grants for damaged communities and the needy.

In conjunction with his graphics company, Bulletproof Graphics, DJ Chuck T will release a mix cd, entitled モThe Gulf Coast All-Stars,ヤ which will feature new and exclusive music from rap stars David Banner, Juvenile, Lilメ Wayne, Max Minelli, B.G., Dirty, Webbie, Young City and many other artists from states affected by Hurricane Katrina. 85% of the proceeds will be donated to New Orleans hip-hop mogul Master Pメs Team Rescue One organization.

Legal restrictions prevent mix tape DJs from actually モsellingヤ mix CDs so DJ Chuck T will actually be donating profits made from handling fees and mark ups on his shipping and packaging costs. モI wanted to make sure the proceeds went to an organization that was going to use the funds properly and help out the public immediately. Knowing that Master P is from New Orleans helped me make the final decision. I know he wouldnメt leave his own people out in the cold or misuse the funds,ヤ stated DJ Chuck T.

A Charleston native, DJ Chuck T is CEO of Port City Productions. Known for bringing national recognition to local talent in the Carolinas, Chuck T has been featured in The Source and Ozone magazines, MTVメs モMix Tape Mondaysヤ and recently received 12 SEA (Southern Entertainment Awards) nominations. Seeing himself as more than an aspiring hip hop mogul, Chuck T actively gives to the Edward L. Polite Scholarship fund and donates his time to various charities in Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC.

Dubcnn note: I also wanna a shout out to Compton’s own Young Hootie who went out with his Larceny Ent. team to New Orleans for a Benefit show this past weekend. I was out of the country and didn’t get the info until after the fact, but I want to big him up. Our families and friends are out there suffering and are in need of donations. Most people have been wiped out and have nothing left. DubCNN is asking for people to donate to any relief fund, no matter how small the amount. It’s the thought the counts! Big ups to everyone helping out and I wish everyone who was victim of this disaster well.
