After months of growing speculation, Paul Dainty and Dainty Consolidated Entertainment are thrilled to announce the upcoming Australian tour of hip-hop kingpin SNOOP DOGG, with pre-sold tickets via the Internet available February 21 and general tickets available February 23.
Having not stepped a foot (or paw, as the case may be) in the country for over eight years, rapﾒs self-appointed grand pimp Snoop Dogg is ready to return to our shores and wow hip-hop fans in all major cities with his signature West Coast flavour.
ﾓThe last Snoop Dogg tour was so memorable, and stood out from so many other shows, simply because of Snoop himself,ﾔ enthuses DJ Nino Brown, Australiaﾒs premier urban DJ who supported Snoop during his first sell-out Australian tour in 1998. ﾓSnoop is a complete artist and unlike no one else in hip-hop. It was his first Australian tour and every song he performed was a classic. There were no songs the crowd didn’t know all the words to. His debut album Doggystyle was so huge here, and everyone wanted to see him perform all the tracks live. It was an awesome night, and I can’t wait to see Snoop again!ﾔ
Born Calvin Broadus in Californiaﾒs Long Beach City, Snoop has grown from a teenage member of the notorious Crip gang to a 90ﾒs rap superstar to a global entertainment icon ﾖ and heﾒs still only in his early thirties. Due to his gang allegiance and ties with California hip-hop legend Dr. Dre, his 1993 album Doggystyle was the first debut album ever to enter the Billboard charts at number one. Singles such as ﾓWhatﾒs My Name?ﾔ ﾓGin & Juiceﾔ and ﾓAinﾒt No Fun (If The Homies Canﾒt Have None)ﾔ came to define West Coast hip-hop in that era.
