Crown Royale the group which pairs veteran Michigan emcee Buff1 with World Famous Beat Junkie DJ Rhettmatic made perfect sense from the start. The brainchild of DJ Haircut (aka Mayer Hawthorne) and A-Side Worldwideﾒs own Jackson Perry, the pairing came to fruition after they were approached with an idea and discovered there was a mutual respect and admiration for each otherﾒs work.
Rhettmatic, a forefather of todayﾑs burgeoning LA hip-hop scene, is a founding member of the Beat Junkie DJ crew, the DJ for hip-hop group The Visionaries and has appeared on Dubcnn countless times.
Mixed from distant points on the map, one part slicing lyrics and one part pummeling beats, Crown Royale is a formiddable combination. The duo completed a 10-city European tour earlier this year and have recently released the official music video to the first single from the upcoming “Crown Royale” album dropping December 7th via A-Side Worldwide.
“We Gotcha” is the record and the video showcases the chemistry between Buff 1 and DJ Rhettmatic, the clip is directed by Jeremy Deputat and edited by James R. Petix.
