Bay Area’s Kevin D’wayne Gives You “The Commitment”

Every now and again an artist pops up that reminds me why we started Dubcnn all those years ago in 2002! Each and every day we try and keep you up to date with the latest content from the Westcoast and sure, some days we do better than others. Mixed with the constant stream of updates from established acts we pride ourselves on trying to help break new acts to the industry and, to be honest, our track record is pretty damn good!

Sometimes an artist crops up on the radar that demands to be put out there and supported and today we continue in that same vain with the “newest voice of the Bay Area,” 24 year old Kevin D’wayne.

Born in Redwood City, CA where he resided in Menlo Park before relocating to Hayward at the age of 12, he was raised by his mother and step father, who worked steadfastly to instill in him the principles of hard work and determination.

Kevin attended San Lorenzo High, but it wasn’t until he graduated that he would find his passion for music. Over the years that followed he began to record music locally and soon released his debut mixtape “Courtesy Music.” Since then the MC has been working with the team at RedLeafGame Entertainment to release his latest project “The Commitment” which has been recently released and has brought a sure promise that KD is here to not only represent for the Bay Area but the entire West Coast.

I first heard about “The Commitment” when the video below “Commitment Studio Performance” landed in my inbox and you can tell within seconds that KD oozes charisma, packs lyrics and has flow.

From there I went to check out the full 8 track “The Commitment” project and have been bumping it solidly all week and today we are here to bring it to you for free download courtesy of Kevin D’wayne and RedLeafGame Entertainment. The project may only be 8 tracks long but he showcases an entire spectrum of ability touching subjects of true life struggles, both his own and others, and notably touches on the death of his late childhood friend Oscar Grant in his track titled “Up To Me Now.”

KD showcases his creative side throughout the release and keeps you interested throughout. KD is most definitely an undeniable lyricist and talent for the future. Check out a sample track, “The Music” and then download “The Commitment” below.
