New York City rap artist Fokis is set to release his new project モThe Vintage Album“, with guest appearances by Hip-Hop legends Kurtis Blow, DMC, Kingsun,Sadat X, Lord Jamar, Kool G. Rap, Spoonie Gee, King Tee, MC Eiht and more. The album is slated for release in January 2012 digitally via Loyalty Digital Corp. with special limited edition CDs, Vinyl and cassette tapes.

The first single, モShow ‘Em How To MCヤ, features Grandmaster Caz of the Legendary Cold Crush Brothers and will be available on iTunes on October 11th, 2011. Produced by Fokeezy, (Fokisメ name as producer), the single also features RP, a collaborator with Fokis on モThe Vintage Album.ヤ

Prior to the albumメs release, look for the following, leading up to the launch: the mixtape “A Vintage State Of Mind“, music videos to songs off the mixtape, as well as the video to “Show ‘Em How To MC” featuring Grandmaster Caz.

Created with two purposes in mind, モThe Vintage Albumヤ was intended not only to salute Hip-Hopメs pioneers but also to re-create the sound and feel of the early 80メs through the mid 90メs.

As the executive producer, Fokis took great pains to capture the authenticity of the music as sonically and accurately as possible. Every rap legend got matched with a new track that captured the spirit of their sound perfectly. The result is a beautifully crafted, collection of hard-hitting, rhythmic songs that stillrepresents todayメs generation in Hip-Hop.

The Vintage Album,ヤ was a passionate project conceived when Fokis watched the Hip-Hop classic, Krush Groove. モWatching the film again after so many years, I realized this movie was the reason I fell in love with hip-hop to begin with. It was entertaining, enlightening and most of all fun,” says Fokis. モIt is important for todayメs artists and fans alike to know about their history and salute the ones that laid the foundation. I am honored to have worked with them.

Today, we have a leak off the “A Vintage State Of Mind“, which precedes the official “Vintage Album“. The song is called “Fly Boyz” and features RP, check it out:
