Ice Cube – who in our last update had just released his latest movie “21 Jump Street” with Jonah Hill, dropping off this Exclusive Clips + Outtakes Footage – spoke to MTV this week about a new album, N.W.A biopic and fourth ‘Friday’ film – which we indicated was in the works in March.
Speaking to MTV he said; “I think I’m gonna call it Everything’s Corrupt, It’s just really hardcore West Coast hip-hop — what I do. I don’t think changing the formula is what should be done. I think it’s all about do what you do best and give the people what they want.”
The planned release, which would be his tenth studio album release and follow up to 2010s “I Am the West”, is being readied to drop later this year while he is also furthering his movie work with a long-overdue N.W.A. biopic alongside longtime collaborator F. Gary Gray; “[It’s full steam ahead], we’re excited about him being part of the project, and the script is getting tighter and tighter, and once the script is tight as sweaty butt cheeks, we’ll put it out, and we’ll start working on it.”
“Friday” is the same thing,” he said of the hugely awaited fourth installment of his popular movie franchise, “I’m almost finished with the script, so as soon as we can finish the script, fast motion on it.”
Stay locked to Dubcnn for more news on the album and his other projects over the coming weeks – until then why not give the I Am The West Album Sampler another spin in anticipation.
