Last month we confirmed that Ice Cube, MC Ren & DJ Yella would be on stage altogether for the first time in over 25 years!
The N.W.A reunion performance was at this year’s BET Experience at The Staples Center in Los Angeles at which Snoop and Kendrick Lamar also opened up.
Cube has just released Behind The Scenes footage of the show. In his post Cube also talks about what he’s been up to including 2 movies;
“I’ve been busy as hell juggling 3 things at once. Finishing the Straight Outta Compton movie, filming Barbershop 3 and putting together the NWA reunion show. I’d been on the phone all week making sure the visuals were right for the show. Flew back and forth from L.A. to Atlanta to rehearse with Ren and Yella. It was like riding a bike. Me and Ren had been on stage together during the UP IN SMOKE TOUR but this was the first time Yella would join us since 1989.”
Cube went on to explain about the day;
“I was working on Barbershop 3, so I had to fly in the morning of the show and went straight to sound check. This was a big show for me. Headlining in my home arena The Staples Center with Snoop and Kendrick Lamar opening up. Home can bring a lot of distractions so I instructed my team to pull out their A-game…and they did. We had that mothafucka rockin’!”
