.......................................................................................... Exclusive Interview: DJ Premier Speaks With Dubcnn - By : Nima - August 27, 2010

Dubcnn had the opportunity to briefly link up with one of Hip-Hop's greatest producers, DJ Premier. Primo has had a rough year in which he suffered the loss of his long time partner Guru, with whom he created some of Hip-Hop's timeless classic music as the duo Gangstarr.
We caught up with him at Rock The Bells in San Francisco last week to get a few words on MC Eiht's upcoming album "Which Way Iz West", which is executive produced by DJ Premier. He tells us about linking up with Eiht in the early 90's and the reasons for which he wanted to get behind this album.
He also gives a few shout outs to West Coast artists, from the up and comers like Young Maylay, Jay Rock, Nipsey Hussle to the OG's like WC, Tha Chill, Monstah O (Boo Yah T.R.I.B.E), the Maad Circle and Ice Cube.
Watch our conversation with Primo below:
Exclusive Interview With DJ Premier (Rock The Bells 2010) (Video)
Transcript:
"I wanted to work with MC Eiht, because we had worked together before on Compton's Most Wanted, I did a remix for them back in 1992, it was called "Def Wish" remix. There was an East Coast remix and a West Coast remix and I did the East Coast remix. That was just messing around, but I've been a big fan of Eiht's style, his rhyme style, his "gyeah" and all that.
We met a long time ago in Long Beach at a show that we did together in 1989. That was my first time in Cali on that level of seeing Cali go down, like, a lot of things backstage - I'll just leave it at that. A lot of things popping off backstage and at the end of the day, he told me he was coming out as a new artist, I saw his video probably like a week later on one of the video channels in New York, I was blown away by his style! "One Time Gaffled Em Up", I've been a fan ever since and every album is consistent. His acting in Menace II Society showed that he was g'd up with that too.
He's just official man so it's like let's get it in, we ain't gotta say nothing to each other. We can just be like "Yeah, send me the album, let's get it!" Not just as a friend or a look out, but I understand his substance, he understands mine, so let's put it out and make it funky for the audience that already understands it! Anybody else that wants to join in, get it when they get it!
We're all about the people that already get what time it is with this adult G shit. Period point blank. Adult G shit. They told me it was a new category, adult something Hip-Hop, which is fine, but we'll just call it adult G shit. Kids ain't ready to be a G even though you wanna be and you act like it. Acting is one thing, being is another. Dubcnn big ups, MC eiht big ups, shouts out to my man Tha Chill, that's my dude.
Shouts out to Young Maylay man, that dude is a lyrical problem. On the West Coast you got your Jay Rock's, you got all of them coming, my homie from 60's, Nipsey Hussle shouts out to him. But Maylay is a problem man and WC is a problem." - DJ Premier.Discuss This Topic

.......................................................................................... New Song & Video From Nipsey Hussle - By : LilJay - August 18, 2010

While Nipsey Hussle is enjoying success with his current single, the 1500 Or Nuthin' produced "Feeling Myself" featuring Lloyd, he continues the marathon leak of songs that didn't make his longawaited debut album "South Central State of Mind". This is a perfect thing for two reasons: 1) the album IS finally completed, and 2) these leftovers keep coming in on a daily! On top of that he proves that the hype around him is justified, because almost everything that finds its way to the public's ears is quality material.
Here goes the latest banger called "Hotel Room Music".
Nipsey Hussle - Hotel Room Music (Audio)
As Nipsey Hussle said on this track: "Album done: check. More mixtapes and videos on the way." Having said that, Nip wastes no time and links back up with Jordan Tower Films to deliver a brand new visual for "Change Tomorrow". Taken off "Bullets Ain't Got No Names Vol. 3.1". Enjoy.

"South Central State Of Mind" is scheduled for a October 19th release.Discuss This Topic

Earlier this month the rapper/producer Disko from Inglewood was back on Dubcnn to announce his new album called "iProduce." In May we gave you the first track said to be from the album, Golden State Of Mind featuring Nipsey Hussle and Diamond Ortiz then in the last update you saw the video for 5 Minutes alongside April P & Khase.
Disko is back today with news and a new track from the LP. First off Disko announced that "iProduce" will be out on November 1st via Birmingham Records.
He has just been signed to the label by 100 Millionaire Ron Pole, the same label that was behind Mack 10's "Soft White" and who signed Heuy of "Pop Lock & Drop It" fame. Two weeks after "iProduce" drops on November 1st Disko will be heading over to Japan for four shows as part of a tour.
Today we have a new track entitled "Turnt Down" that features an Inglewood group formed by Big Wy who have been making moves this year with the single "Teach Me How to Dougie" from their forthcoming "The Kickback" album due October 12th via Capitol Records. It was only right given their representation of the same location that Cali Swag District teamed up with Disko for this record that will appear on "iProduce"

The rapper/producer Disko from Inglewood has been a regular on Dubcnn over the years. Since his debut album "Tha Proof" was released in 2005 he has been steadily releasing material and appearing right here.
The same man that brought you Problem's smash hit I'm F-cked Up aka I'm Toe Up - which ended up getting Problem a record deal with Univeral Republic and a remix with Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, DJ Quik and Terrace Martin - continues to expand his horizons and work on new material.
Disko's last solo project Turnt Up was released on Dubcnn for free download in Summer 2008 and featured Problem, Eastwood, 211, K-Active, Spider Loc and S-Class.
Then late last year he released videos for the tracks I Came From The Ghetto and AddWater.

.......................................................................................... Sir Aah Is Back With Knoc-Turn'Al, Yukmouth & Nipsey - By : Rud - July 24, 2010

Although not regularly featured on Dubcnn, a name that will most definitely be familiar to some is that of Sir Aah aka The Real Punjabi MC. The MC, who hails from the DMV area, first and last appeared on Dubcnn when he linked up with two members of Slaughterhouse, Crooked I & Royce Da 5'9 for the politically charged track called I Wonder If The Lord Knows.
Since then he has been quiet on Dubcnn but far from it further afield. He has been working on new material in preperation for an album and just this week two brand new records arrived. First up we have a track featuring Knoc-Turn'Al and Yukmouth entitled "Ya Movin, Ya Groovin" - check it below. Sir Aah - Ya Movin, Ya Groovin (Feat. Knoc-Turn'Al & Yukmouth)
Secondly is a track that features Nipsey Hussle and is produced by Sureet Sandhu called "Leave With You." Sir Aah commented on the record; "I feel like releasing another joint with a real summer vibe to it...featuring Nipsey Hussle...we go back and forth on a Punjabi beat laced by Sureet Sandhu. It's been a hell of a run, big up to all those who post and download the music. It means a lot!" With that said, check out the cut below.

.......................................................................................... Dubcnn Exclusive: Video Interview With Nipsey Hussle - By : LilJay - June 18, 2010

Nipsey Hussle is that rare breed of "New West" rapper - one that is approved of by those that preceded him. Ice Cube recently exclusively endorsed the thriving South Central lyricist, while Snoop Dogg allocated Nip a showstealing slot on his latest album "Malice N Wonderland". With a buzz strong enough to secure him a focal position on the cover of XXL's 2010 Freshmen issue, there is a lingering sense of anticipation for Nip's painstakingly crafted debut "South Central State Of Mind".
While his growing fanbase awaits its release, Dubcnn reunited with the Slauson Boy to get the latest word on that elusive album.
