1086433969 - January 1, 1970 By : We've seen a couple 213 tracks leak in the last weeks, so I thought I'd put them all up right here for those who missed them and don't feel like searching the news archives.
First goes "Dolla Dolla Bill", produced by Josef Leimberg which was supposed to be the first single and was actually blowing up. Right now it's undecided wether this song will make the album or not. Here is the FULL Version, including a 1 minute outro by Snoop Dogg:
213 - Dolla Dolla Bill (Full Version)
Next goes the new first single which we put up for you a few days ago, "Groupie Luv", which is produced by DJ Pooh:
213 - Groupie Luv
Now we have the song that WCRydaz brought you the other day called "Gangsta Music", a real laid back song, Nate KILLS it! The producer is yet to be announced, however it is a banging song:
213 - Gangsta Music
And last, but not least, the song "Takin' A Ride" which was also floating on the net under the name "Eastside LB". This is one of my favorites, very dope Battlecat production, definitely a heater:
213 - Takin' A Ride
Enjoy, and look for "The Hard Way" dropping August 15th on TVT Records!

1086734152 - January 1, 1970 By : As of this week, Bad Azz left his label D3 and is now officially a free agent. Mr. Bad is currently shopping for a deal for his new album and his imprint Double Dolla Sign Records. "I ain't gonna go for no OK deal, or no coo deal no more, I done been through that shit and in the end it's all fucked up. I need something good, because I KNOW i got a SMASHING album ready to come out, for whatever label I go with! It's some smashing shit, I guarantee you!", he said. His album "Executive Decisionz" was repeatedly pushed back by the lable, to the point where it looked like it was never coming out.
Let's hope Bad Azz finds a fitting situation to be able to unleash his record to the masses, and finally gets his long overdue recognition in the music industry!

1090872100 - January 1, 1970 By : Compton native Guerilla Black has released his new mixtape, Hearts Of Fire Vol. 1. Features a few interviews by Power 106's Felli Fel. He explains his feelings on his similarities to Biggie. Black then spits over a melody of Biggie beats, as well as "Got It Twisted," "I Shot Ya," "Dip It Low," "Str8 Ballin'," "The Champ Is Here," "Tipsy" and much more. If you want to peep it, head to WCRydaz.com, they got a preview for ya'll.
After hearing this mixtape and his previous tape, I can honestly say I really can careless if he's so similar to B.I.G. He's got a lot of talent and I believe he has what it takes to really blow up, without a Dre affiliation. We can only hope. Make sure you support Guerilla City when it drops in September on Virgin Records.

1091290591 - January 1, 1970 By : Our associates at WCRydaz.com posted an update on Mellow Man Ace's contraversial comments during his time on one of the panels at the Latin Rap Conference. I was on the same panel and it could've been interpreted different ways. Mellow Man is a black Latino, so by no means was he inciting any, as he put it, "Race wars." The way I took it, he's saying, as opposed to running out and supporting the Snoop Dogg's, the Jay-Z's etc., support Latin Hip Hop first. He was, by no means, saying do not support Black Hip Hop. There was a heated a debate after is comments. I'd just like to put that out there, before any rumors begin to stir up.

1091484009 - January 1, 1970 By : We all know West Coast Hip Hop has been strugglin' to get exposure for the past couple of years. This musical slump might have many different reasons, it might be the artists not putting out top notch music, or the industry intentionally blackballing the West Coast...
One thing's for sure though, we want this to change. And this is why DubCNN, the West Coast News Network, is teaming up with Enexes, your Entertainment Gateway. Together, we're going to start a new movement, and it's in motion as we speak. The A&R of Enexes, Frank Nitty, who many of you might know as THE man behind everything going on on the West Coast, is recruiting an army of soldiers, hungry to record new music. Not just the same shit you've been hearing over and over. But some FRESH music.
Dileone, the CEO of Enexes.com, is backing the movement by providing us with the studio, where Goldie Loc from Tha Eastsidaz has eagerly been recording for the past few months along with the legendary Chocolate and many more. I'm not going to disclose too much about the new projects, as it's still in the beginning stages, but we will be having regular updates, right here on DubCNN.com, so stay tuned.
Now on to the alliance between Enexes and DubCNN. We're taking HipHop on the internet to the next level. If you aren't hip to Enenex yet, hit up www.enexesartists.com and check it out. If you're an independent artist and are trying to get cracking on the internet, this is for you. Enexes offers you a website, including store and everything. With the Enexes profile, everybody can know who you are, what you do or what you're trying to do, with just a few clicks. And they will be able to buy your music, right there.
This is new age promotion. You control it, not a label. And that's how it's supposed to be. We're going to give you a more indepth view on the future developments, so make sure to check back right here on DubCNN real soon.
I know we've been kinda slow with the updates and interviews in the past few weeks, but believe me, you're not prepared for what's about to come. I'm not even gonna spoil it for you, just sit back and watch, DubCNN is gonna bring you more than just news and interviews on the West Coast. We're gonna have it in a way where you're going to feel like you're RIGHT THERE, watching every step of what's happening of the West Coast, wether you live in Australia, Japan, Russia, New York, or in L.A.
It's about to be big, oh boy!

1092804373 - January 1, 1970 By : YinSumi Press, the worlds first publishing house dedicated to documenting the political and social aspects of the Hip Hop sub-culture, in conjunction with www.lyricalswords.com, is proud to announce the release of Adisa Banjoko's highly anticipated book "Lyrical Swords Vol. 1: Hip Hop and Politics in the Mix" on November 2nd 2004. Edited by journalist Ali Asadullah, "Lyrical Swords" is a collection of essays and interviews on Hip Hop culture, politics and social issues written over the last decade. Hip Hop cultures political effect has been a highly discussed topic in this Presidential election year.
While new to most of America, this arena has been Adisa's stomping ground for over 15 years. "I was raised in my early days politically by my parents" says Mr. Banjoko. "In my young adult years I was raised poltically by panthers, rebellious artists, poltical activists and urban educators in my world. This book, is a cliff note of that journey."
Pioneer Hip Hop journalist, Adisa Banjoko, hails from the San Francisco Bay Area. His articles have graced the pages of The Source, The Harvard Hip Hop Archive, XXL, Vibe, Yoga Journal, Grappling, Daveyd.com, Rapstation.com, Pacific News Service, and Allhiphop.com among others. His book "Lyrical Swords" features intervews and essays with some of Hip Hop's greatest icons including Russell Simmons, Q-Tip, Everlast, Martial Arts Legend Royce Gracie, Paris, Mystic, Dilated Peoples Rakaa, Encore, Shamko Noble, Shaolin Monk Shi Yan Ming, and many others. He is easily one of the most respected, hated and loved people in the Hip Hop community.
Under the pen name ᶴThe Bishop of Hip Hopᶴ, Adisa Banjoko has entertained and educated many on Hip Hop culture, Eastern philosophy, Martial Arts, Islamic culture, and African American social issues. Host of the critically acclaimed One Mic Radio show, his poltically charged antics got him swiflty removed from the wickedly conservative 910 AM KNEW which host radio personalities such as Mike Savage and Bill O'rielly. "I knew I was doing something right, when they booted us", Adisa laughs. Nevertheless, his online support grew globally. Downloadable at www.lyricalswords.com, it has proven to be a core bridge between the Hip Hop and Political realms. Past guests include Presidential Candidate Al Sharpton, WMD Insp. Scott Ritter, Warren G, Jackie O, Paris, MC Lyte, Daz Dillenger, DJ QBert, T-La Rock and Wu-Tang Clan's Masta Killa.
Mr. Banjoko㙠s knowledge has earned him countless invitations to lecture at prestigious universities such as Harvard University, Stanford University, U.C. Berkeley, U.C. Santa Cruz and San Francisco State, just to name a few. He has shared the stage with political and cultural icons such as S.F. Mayor Willie Brown, civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich, Hip Hop pioneer Afrika Bambataa, rap legend Chuck D, and pioneer b-boy Crazy Legs. "I'm trying to get the young people of the world to arm themselves mentally and politically. On November 2nd after you go to the polls, vote for yourself and get 'Lyrical Swords'. I'm gonna be touring the continental U.S. the next few months. I'll be walking all over the streets of the Bay, LA, NY, the ATL and Philly with these books. Wherever people are getting boxed outta the game by these snakes and fakes, I'm gonna be handing out these swords to libirate minds."
People looking for a glimpse of "the swords" can go to www.lyricalswords.com (designed by graf legend Scape Martinez) and get 3 complimentary chapters of the book sent to them via email.

They got bought off and I don't blame it on the buyer, blame it on the seller. Dude sold out, he didn't even know how much he was helping underground artist. All day you could hear: Mitchy Slick, Jayo Felony, Bad Azz, Damu, Mr. Lil-One, Shysti, Mr. Shadow, Knightowl, Lil' Rob, Psycho Realm, Cypress Hill, Damizza, as well as Kurupt, Daz, old Snoop Dogg, WSC, Ice Cube, WC, Knocturnal, Roscoe, Quik, E-40, Sly Boogy, Guerilla Black, and so on, were also on heavy rotation.
Now all you hear is Usher, Lil' Jon, Ciara, Nelly, and shit they never played before.
i've personaly talked to their dj's like billy blast, seize, and yesi ortiz. they told me they arnt even allowed to play what they want and that every complaint they get they record it and show it to management in hopes that they will change back. so its not their fault.
Us here at DubCNN, Angel and so many more ask you to call (619)230-0189 or log on to their chat room 989morefm.com and if the staff is in there complain!!!!!!!
I thank Angel for the info and the write up. This was one of the few media outlets that showed love to the West Coast and now it's gone. We urge you to call and complain. They were starting a trend and it got cut short. Call! E-Mail! Anything!

1095726516 - January 1, 1970 By : Hey ya'll, I briefly caught up wit the legendary DJ Slip, who's now running IV Life Records, to talk about the new 4life projects and more. We'll be conducting a more in-depth interview soon, but here's the current scoop as far as music goes.
As ya'll know, IV Life & Tha Eastsidaz collaborated on alot of songs, and they are currently looking to drop a project called "Duecez, Trays & Foes", and 18 song project featuring all IV Life Records arits and Tha Eastsidaz. "We're trying to put this out first, cause you know, instead of sitting on them, we might aswell let people hear it, cause I don't see nobody else droppin' it if it ain't us. It also should help us get a foot in the door, cause of Tha Eastsidaz, who are an established group", Slip said. There is no set release date yet, as they're still looking for the right distribution deal to put it out.
"This is what we're lookin' for right now, the right distribution deal. Cause last time we did it ourselves, and it doesn't work. Some stores get it before others, and shit ain't organized. Also, you get killed by bootleggers, cause your product ends up in the street before it hits stores. But you know how it is, people ain't tryna break bread, but we're positive that we can find the right situation to release our music.".
So it's really up to when they find the right deal that we will finally hear the Eastsidaz collab aswell as the real new album, titled "The New Breed", which is complete, but new songs are still being recorded as we speak.
When asked about expanding the IV Life Family, Slip said: "We're always looking for new groups, new artists. We're lookin' to pick up some singers, cause you know you always need atleast one singer on your label. A label with all rappers isn't gonna work, you defintely need somebody with a voice. So yeah, we're expanding the label in future, definitely".
Sounds promising, as of now IV Life has release some hot mixtape music. Those of you who've been following the label for a while, might remember that Leicy Loc, Gangsta Dresta's sister, used to work with them closely, however hasn't appeared on the new projects. "You know, Lecy wanted to be a solo artist man, but we were going to sign everybody as a group. We're a new independent label man, we couldn't start giving everybody solo deals.. But it's all friendly with Lecy, there is no animosity whatsoever.", Slip had to say about the situation.
Look for a more indepth interview with DJ Slip soon, if you have any questions you'd like answered, you can send an email to nima@dubcnn.com.

1095962461 - January 1, 1970 By : Styles Media officially assumed control of KZAB/Los Angeles and simulcast partner KZBA/Riverside at noon Monday, flipping KZAB from Tropical to a hip-hop format that encompasses the genre's 25-year history as "93.5 K-DAY." A two-minute documentary featuring Rick Party, who has signed on as the station voice, kicked off the format. "This isn't just a brand-new radio station," Party said. "This is a living history of hip-hop." The station's inaugural hour featured songs from such artists as NWA, LL Cool J, 2PAC, DJ Quik, 50 Cent, Lil' Flip and Snoop Doggy Dogg. "How many times can you get to do this?" Styles Media Managing Member Don McCoy told R&R. "There's no market like this. My whole life has been a 'get ready' for this moment." Styles Media Chief Programming Officer Anthony Acampora is overseeing the station's launch. The original KDAY was one of the nation's first stations to embrace hip-hop, airing at 1580 kHz from the early 1980s until its 1991 sign-off. KZBA is temporarily dark and that station's new format is set to debut soon.
Props to Dutch of F.I.L.T.H.E.E. Immigrants for bringing it to my attentiona and props to DPGC 23 of the WCRydaz board for posting the article.

This is the record he is dropping before his "So So Gangsta" album drops on So So Def, who are currently looking for a new distributor, and are in talks with Def Jam, Interscope and more.
We also have the new cover for the Dogg Pound Gangsta LP up, view the full version by clicking on the thumbnail to your left!
Anyways, enough talking, for now check out what we got for you below:

1100703491 - January 1, 1970 By : Props to Juda Starr and Brian Lewis for putting on yet another good show. Juda Starr Ent. stays doing it big. They'll be throwing a Digital Underground show next week, stay tuned for that. Last Thursday, November 11th, at the Vault 350 in Long Beach, Too Short tore the house down. I got there in time to see Short's set. He went through all his classics and new material. As usual, he does has good crowd control and participation. Outside of the few fights that I seen, the night was smooth. The Vault 350 is a real good venue. Females were looking good, as well. And shouts to the cats from WestCoastRydaz, they were there reppin', too.
Caution: Some of these pictures contain nipples, becareful if you're viewing from work or school. 18+.

1102445785 - January 1, 1970 By : The homies over at WCRydaz.com had posted a few weeks ago that Techniec & Crooked I were hooking up as a group to record songs, with Bad Azz as a possible third addition.
Well I have an update on that situation right here for ya'll, it's pretty much official, Bad Azz, Crooked I, Lil C-Style & Techniec have hooked up all together to get some music done! The project was put together by Big C-Style & Frank Nitty. They aren't recording yet, but it's going to go down in near future.
This is a real dream team, I'm especially happy to see Bad Azz and Crooked I back fucking with each other after a long, long break, due to Crooked I being on Death Row.
Anyway, I will keep ya'll updated on this situation. This is not a GROUP, for now, it's going to be some songs recorded together, but who knows what will come out of this! Lookout for interviews with Big C-Style, Lil C-Style, Techniec, Bad Azz, and Crooked I coming here soon regarding that situation.
Also, we are in the process of launching the official Bad Azz Message Boards real soon, maybe still tonight! Stay tuned, because we will be premiering some brand new songs at the same time! It's about to be biiiiiiiiiig homie! Stay tuned!
