The official dr dre website dre2001.com
By SMS aka The Narrator

It all started for me, and many others in the summer of 1999, on dreday.com..me, and a bunch of the original posters you see on this board were all posting there, as it was the only up and running dr dre website. That was the good ol' days, there would be like a post every minute it seemed, and there was no beefing nothing...

As time went on, the anticipation for chronic 2 grew stronger, as it was about october of 1999. Dr Dre's official website opened, with a bright new forum, opening about 2 weeks later. Along with most of dreday.com people came much more dr dre fans from all over the net and world.

I remember such people as XLnutz, rap dogg, dirty dogg, D.O.C.B., engies, and alot more people from those days..but after Chronic 2001 dropped, interest dropped and some people left. This is when the famous battles of the message boards went on, i didnt take big part in these, but i was affected with it for sure..The first one was the ruff ryders board, some stupid shit, they bombed the board with pictures and it worked, due to no moderation.

Then came battles with the eminem board and battling off the teeny boppers, ahh damn yall remember that right? WEll this is the time we also got some new members  such as nik (formerly now i know), tanjint (formerly ackynerm), and many other posters who are now real good posters. Along with the battles, there was a rough draft of the westcoast affiliates thing going around, which included wc killaz, dpgc2000.net, the shiznit, and all. This brings into play my old site "Chronic Overload"  which was originally gonna be on the affiliates.

To make a long story short, Chronic overload was releasing a cd, called "be heard" which featured many of the dre2001.com people such as NExus (aka matt c), bishop, docb, mouse, jaymastajay and rapquake. Then came the problems, we relized it was unrelistic, and things fell apart....

And then at the end of 2000, the forum waas really starting to be shitty, and the westcoast affiliates, led by bplease and overseer,  decided to make a new board, for the real fans to come along, leaving some 20-50 teeny boppers behind at dre2001.com, and real fans coming here to discuss rap..And 5 monthes into the project, this board is a smash hit if i may say so, and doing very well, better than dre2001 ever was...

aright heres my story of the ol' days  :o

it was about August 31st or so , and it was also the first day of highschool for me, and for a present my mom got me a computer like 2 weeks before i thought this was the coolest thing ever cuz never thought i'd own a computer, and i was cool with just the computer i could like type all my homework up instead of doing it the ghetto way and write it, but after my first day of school my mom had hooked up the internet and at the time i was into wrestling and my mom gave me the screen name "jabroni kenobi" i don't know what's up with the kenobi i guess she thought it was coool or somthin, anyways i just started skimming though places searching for when dre's new record was coming out and i found the message board and at first i thought every one was some hardcore gangsta or somthin so i dunno i will admit i was fronting and acting all hardcore too and for some odd reason when they'd post topics like "who's the greatest rappers of all time" and i thought it was cool if i put all the famous rappers down that were out instead of all the rappers i really did like ,, so i put whack ass fools like juvenile and master p and thought "hey this should make me down...wrong i got clowed so bad and after strenuioius trying to prove myself as a non teeny bopper i was excepted and became a part of the whole clique. anyways like narrator said we had alot of beefs with other boards like
ruff ryders
deathrow
napter
eminem
and we pretty much got rid of them after a week or so then i dunno after no board was challenging us we started to implode
i mean shit i musta had beef with almost every one at one point at that board and visa versa with everyone else, it was crazyness then i remember getting fed up like the day before Psycreate made this board and making a post saying "i'm fed up with you people i'm outta here i ain't posting a single post again"....then this board opened a day later and now i've got like 2,000 posts

but heres the list of all the major player from the 2001 board (some major players from here might not make the list becuase at the time you weren't as major)

1. engies- he use to post like all the time now it's like once every month

2. the Narrator-now known as so much style

3. Pyscreate-now known as overseer

4. mouse
5. hittman with some numbers at the end
6. goldme
7. jamasta jay
8. docb
9. bishop
10. xlnutz
11. yungz 1- even though he only posted for like a month or 2 i don't think any of the OG's could forget that fool

oh yeah and me BIGjakeDOGGYdogg and for a brief time known as jaborni187

Well here is my short story:

Back in June 2000, I started coming to the Dre board and reading posts to see what was going on with Dre and other artists. I made some retarded name like The_Big_Bad_Brandon or something like that and I made a couple posts. Y'all would of never paid attention or recognized that name cause I only made a post or two.

Then my computer fried so I was off for a long time. I had forgotten about the Dre board and it was  I finally got another computer in October 2000 and while I was listening to 2001 and I felt like checking dre2001.com to see if there was any news on Dre. I saw the forum and I remembered alot of familiar faces. I began reading posts for awhile and some time in November 2000 I registered the name bdogg187. I made my first topic entitled "Engies is a bitch" or something like that (no offence now) and started talking shit to him.

I was trying to be some prick and talk shit to everyone to get respect (big mistake) and obviously it was a big mistake. I had fights with alot of posters at that time and at one time or another everyone who posted at the dre 2001 board called me a bitch LOL. I wasn't an important player in the board or nuthin so no one gave a crap about my biting.

Then things started to die, people started leaving and unknowledgable tennyboppers took over and killed things. Then I saw a post where Psycreate was talking about this new board he was making with Bplease. I checked it out and at first I was like "Nah I prefer the dre board. Who cares if everyone else left. They come a dime a dozen anyways". Well once again I was wrong and I quickly noticed the place had become a horrible dump. SO of course I jumped ships and here I am today.

Back in the day of being CatzI...I mostly sat around doin nuttin...I was scared as fuck of most of the people at Dre2001...I had like 125 posts at the end, not much by most standards...

I was at the RR incident, but kept low...

At first, when this board opened, I didn't join straight away, though I'd been a WCA fan for ages, for some reason I'd never clicked on the WCA Forum, probably because I knew I'd meet too many old faces...

Narrator, First off let me start by saying It's Now I Know (Formerly I_Dont_Know?)....

Anyways, here's my history....

Back in July, 2000...I really liked Eminems new album "Marshal mathers LP." So I searcghed websites to look for some Rare shit by hime...I came to Eminem.com, and I clicked the Message Board thing...I came acroos a bunch of messages...I didn't really know what it was...I registered as Sckit, and started posting there stuff about Eminem and some freestyles and stuff...I remember there wasn't a lot of peopl educated about Hip Hop, but I just stayed there, because I was used to it....than new teeny boppers started coming, and I was getting sick of it, so around Septemember I registered under the name "True_G" cuz I thought I would get some respect if I acted hard and shit (sorta' like BigJake did)...Little did I know that under the name True_G I would get hated on real bad, so later on I registered under "I_Don't_Know?" cuz I had a LOT of questions to ask about Hip Hop...I really didn't post as much as I post today, but i remember seeing all those beefs between Engies and narator...I mean those were like the only posts...Than i remember Bdogg hacked some guy named Cool_Broava, and he used to act all mean and shit (I liked huim better before, now he's too "Laid Back")...Also I remember Bdogg registering under YoungAndre, and people really thought he was Dre, and asked if they can send tapes. By that time the board was getting crazy, we got all those teeny boppers like "EminemGurll" trying to act like they know something about Hip Hop, so I remember hearing about this new board that everyone was moving too so i guess Bdogg posted a Link, and I clicked it, and I was stuck on this board since....

Hop ya like my story

i'd like to have all this incorporated into one page - including the reasons for the beefs with the ruff ryder board (mainly becoz of kurupts callin out names) even though death row & napster are pretty obvious

damn we survived all but the invasion of the teenies - that we never expected =)

You were True G? I remember that. And wasn't Narrator "Young Andre" and I would pretend to be Dre's representitive. It wasn't all bad at the Dre board, there was some good stuff that came out of it.
