The numbers overall are up because it is the holiday season. The majority of artists that drop in November and December do good numbers.

Well I think The Game would have liked to stay withen 200K. None the less, he has already done gold numbers, and will probably go platinum.

Now we will see how much Geffen and Game promote and back the album. If they drop multiple singles and are smart about it, they will see good sales.
Snoop is doing his thing. Almost 300k with a dead in the water 1st single and another that only has been out a couple of weeks is good. But he also is Snoop Dogg and he had a good media blitz around him.
The 2pac situation is finally starting to catch up. I think people are growing tired of the remixed albums but it will be interesting to see the shelf life of this album. Gotta drop another single. Playa Cardz Right Male and Female combined into 1 video would blow up IMO. Have it like Luda & Keisha Cole are having a conversation about relationships and have Pac be the friend trying to keep it together. The shit would work.
But 3 west coast albums in the top 20 of the charts is still damn good.

i can't believe jay sold 700,000+ records...that shit is fucking ridiculous :o what makes me fuckin pissed is that all his sales were based on straight hype of his comeback. 80% of the tracks on his album fucking suck. people really irk me sometimes. they'll go out and support a lying multi-millionaire by buying his "comeback" cd when there is plenty of fresh talent out there that is hungry as fuck. why not bootleg jay and buy albums from cats that actually deserve it? shit makes me mad...

Just two years ago banks was a 1.5 million cd in sales cat, but you say now he aint nothin. get the fuck out of here wit that shit. Plus outside of songwriting banks is killin fif and everyone else in bitch unit. I dont think it's Game's #s that are that surprising, they're pretty respectable in this day and age. He'll definitely go platinum, which more than most people can say this year. What is reallly amazing is Jay doing 700k + with two relatively weak singles. He may not know how to push anyone else at Def Jam, but he sure as hell knows how to promote himself. . .

These charts ain't nuthin' but another piece of evidence to the fact that good music and sales don't go hand in hand. I know for damn sure Jay only had the biggest hype going for him, but his product can't back it up. Not this time. Can't knock the hustle though, and I guess selling the idea of a dope album to 700,00 people is a bigger hustle than an actual dope album.
Game's sales fell, but that was expected. No way he could've kept up with the new releases this week. But to be honest, I expected his sales to drop off even more this week.
Next week might be interesting. Who gains sales, who falls behind, who stays up there...

Man, that ain't true. When 50 dropped his first major, the forum loved it. Snoop is constantly on top, and he gets love here. Game's a major in the game, he gets love here.
Everybody gets love when they drop something hot. Black Album brought the love for Jay, this new shit doesn't. And nobody can deny the fact that Jay had huge hype once again that helped him push major units.

Snoops numbers are pretty good seen as he was pretty much self promotin with a little help frm Geffen!
Games still sellin pretty solidly, not sure if he gonna make that 5m tho!

Some people might not realize that when an artists does huge numbers it takes away from the other artists. If Game had dropped a month earlier he might have been better off with less competition from snoop, jay and akon who all have major radio play behind them. He might have been plat already.
Game also did not make a pop (aka radio friendly) album. Most artists want to load the pipe with radio singles but DA is not a singles album.
I still think he dropped Strip Club (which is the most radio friendly cut) too soon and leaking the album was a poor decision because I would guess it might result in 100K more sales off the bat since a lot of people will buy a CD but if they already have it downloaded they get lazy.
Right now he needs to get another single out the door QUICK to get that Christmas rush. I don't know whats taking so long.
But whatever, he might go platinum in a month or two if he's lucky

WTF are you thinking about? I dont agree that "MTVs hottest producers" automatically = radio friendly. To me the lyrics and performer have more to do with it than who did the music. I guarantee if you give me the hottest beat in the universe right now and ask me to spit over it, I'd be lucky to go wood.
With the exception of Snoops mega pop bubblegum collabos, the radio is just not feeling (aka "friendly to") real gangsta rappers right now.

Definitley. People can be real hypocritical on here most of the time without even realizing it. It really seems like people are jealous, and making up excuses becuase he outsold Game's 1st 2 weeks in one. Don't hate on Jay-Z, just be glad that Game is as big as he is now.

if we want to talk about SALES, then someone can easily point out that a majority of people who 'outsold' game this past week was because their albums went on a "black friday" sale... For example, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce's albums went from 14.99 to $9.99 at many major retailers..
