They shafted spurs big time. Can anyone c them bein stopped?
-
nope i certainly cant. the spurs are by far not a horrible team, dispite what man utd did to them.
cristiano ronaldo has been the player in the epl this year, maybe even the world ;D
-
As long as they keep Chelsea from winning the premiership im happy.
-
man, i remember watching some of the games last year where C. Ronaldo was a little faggot floppin evertime when more than 1 defender would mark him. but i guess hes improved loads this year.
-
Yeah this season really hasn't panned out like i thought it might. There seems to be a real chance, if Chelsea makes mistakes, that there could be a good fight for 2nd, 3rd, 4th. But i can't really see Man Utd being caught. And i'm warming to C. Ronaldo after hating him with a passion like all good Englanders following the WC.
-
In potential C Ronaldo could be one of th GOAT's. But he has to change his atitude and pass a little more.

he has improved in that aspect this year, 15 goals for a winger is excellent. He should beat lampards record for most goals in one season from a midfielder. He has also set up a good amount of goals, nearly every match its one or the other.
Personally i didnt think we played very well against spurs but we have 5/6 players capable of scoring so we can put in a bad performance yet still score a few goals.
-
Ronaldo sure knows how to dive
-
ronaldo is amazing, and doesn't deserve most of the hate he gets. yes he dives a bit, but there are many players who are worse, or just as bad. most of the hate is gonna come from england fans, when really, he did nothing wrong in the world cup.
-
^ im not english, and i hate him with a passion

They should have had a penalty five mins earlier anyway. I hate 2 say it but these days if the defender leaves a leg in there, 8 out of 10 players will fall over it.

actually, this incident is a clear penalty .. the guy (malbranque, i think) tried to trip ronaldo, without even being near to tuch the ball. according to the rules penalty should be given if somebody "trips or tries to trip" a player inside the penalty box... the diving part from ronaldo may have been to avoid the contact.
and yes, i'm a manchester united fan... but it doesnt make my agument any less valid

Penalty Kick
A penalty kick is awarded if any of the above ten offences is committed by a player inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball, provided it is in play.

check the clip and you will clearly see that malbranque puts his left foot inches in front of ronaldos left foot, not even attempting to reach the ball which is on ronaldos right foot. if that's not an attempt to trip, i dont know what is.
but sure... ronaldo probably dived.. but its still penalty acording to the FA rules...
-
He attempted to kick the ball away, but Ronaldo already switched the ball from his left to right foot so that's why the defender didn't touch him.

check the clip again... ronaldo had the ball next to his right foot during the entire run inside the penalty box... malbranque stepped into the penalty box approx at the same time as ronaldo. he then ran approx 3 yards towards ronaldo and tried to trip his left foot, or to scare him or whatever, with ronaldo al along controlling the ball with the right foot. malbranque knew how quick ronaldo was, he knew that he would not have a chance to takle the ball, so he put his foot in front of ronaldo. deliberately or not, it's still a penalty
really, theres not much to argue about ... read the FA rules
-
Don't you see the ball come from his left side, after his cut? As the ball is going from his left side to the right, the player is coming in.

he touches the ball 3 times with his right foot before malbranque attempts to trip him, check the camera angle behind ronaldo, the ball is nowhere near his left foot. in fact, he's actually moving toward the goal on his right side, which means that his right foot is moving further from the left foot with the ball being between his RIGHT foot and the goal... malbranque had no chance in hell of stealing the ball considering ronaldos speed and the placement of the ball.
this is as far as i can explain...
check my link below instead of that youtube video

and like i said... im not saying that it isnt a dive, but its clearly a penalty
-
I think the bottom line is he dived, even you aren't denying that.
