America's most complete artist, DJ Quik, has recently changed his name to just Quik. Along with the name change, Quik has joined forces again with rapper and longtime friend AMG to launch their first single "Can You Werk Wit Dat" as a group, The Fixxers. The song will be featured on their upcoming debut album entitled "The Midnight Life". It is scheduled for release this summer.
What began as a new and innovative production company has manifested itself into a history making collabo by two Hip Hop veterans. Quik and AMG first began collaborating as kids in the early 90's. Their hit single "Bitch Better Have My Money" has been heralded by some as a West Coast classic. Now, with over 15 albums and 34 years of experience between them, Quik and AMG got back together again to breathe variety into an industry that is currently choking on redundancy. Some things are best left to the professionals!
You can catch The Fixxers performing this Friday, March 2nd at the House of Blues in Anaheim, and March 3rd & March 4th at the House Of Blues in Hollywood. Audience members will be treated to the songs that made them famous as well as other songs featured on The Fixxers upcoming album.

No offense to Quik. But this is something a washed out, overdone rapper does. A new group with AMG? Change your name? Release a horrid southern track. I know Dr.Dre releases some sub-par music but at least he doesn't completely embarass himself. DJ Quik is better then Dre. But if this track is representation of what kind of music DJ Quik will be making in the future, then hes officially the next Daz. (except without the coke habit).
The beat isn't bad, but the flow, lyrics, and the sounds of both their voices is unlistenable. This track is that bad I question his future.

This is really sad. Quik completely chasing trends. He drops "DJ" outta his name because producers aren't really doing that anymore - I'm waiting for him to add a "Young" in place of it.
Now to this god awful track. The snap snares, the stripped down simplistic beat, that lame ass 4 key synth looped over and over. Does anybody really see this as anything except Quik blatantly copying every club record coming out of ATL? As a huge Quik fan, this is very disappointing. Not looking forward to this album at all.
This is horrible on many levels.

I ain't trippin about the track Can U Work That. I mean Fandango wasn't all that great, but Trauma came out dope. From past albums, Quik's singles are usually not the best tracks on the albums.

i goto say after the track sinkin in after a month or so since it released, it's pretty damn wak, i cant play it in my car, and people saying it's for the clubs imo the track wouldnt bump at all in a club.................
i got to admit i didnt like fandango too much at first but it grew on me, this track i cant stand anymore, boring as fuck.

come on man, the idea of a whole quick produced album in 2007 with amg on every track got me hyped. this track is very disappointing. i understand what you're saying about "a track for the clubs" but good "club bangers" are good music, period. this is not. imo when peops talk about "club bangers" in some generic fashion to excuse some wack sh*t, what they are often talking about is what this is - some weak attempt to catch a trend that is fading.

yeah when i think of club bangers i think of that bullshit polluting the radios, Chain Hang Low, or Lean Back, or Chicken Noodle Soup, Ballin, or some other whack type no talent shit... i gotta admit this song isnt "the shit" but you can expect alot more from the whole album ... maybe "can you work with that" isnt your thing... but like someone else said, Fandago was a shitty song IMO, but i loved Trauma... I dont know, im looking forward to this album.... and even more so, the unreleased Quik and 2ndIINone album from DeathROw

"The Fixxers" ::) I had hopes into both of them, they died when I read this news. What a fucked up gropuname. Quik should keep the DJ and they should release the album under the name "DJ Quik & AMG". Damn...

Ram Part Division is a crazy ass concept song, the beat isn't typical Quik style but its an awesome song

I did not feel Trauma; no matter how many times I listened to it, I just could not get into it. I wanted to get inside of DJ Quik's head and figure out what he was thinking until I went to the show in February and heard that album played by a live band. I had to pick up the instrumental album because I could not get enough of the production.

If you want to call Ram Part Division a "crazy ass concept song," go out and pick up Sly Boogy's Judgement Day and skip to track 12, Walk with My Dogs. Seeing as how that album dropped in 2003, it is apparent who developed the idea.

^^ I think it's pretty clear that what Quik was thinking when making Trauma was "Im mad and angry and Im gonna let that shit out" (or something along those lines).
It's really a shame partially because it does give Trauma a darker glow than other Quik albums, and it does put it down a little bit...I still love the record though..Quik at his finest 8)

club tracks need bass.. the only bass the track has is on the hook, then random bumps during verses.... i cant imagine the track gettin shit movin.
quik needs to make a better single, and drop the track all together.
i still dont doubt midnight life will be dope though, Trauma was the shit, fandango bumps like crazy too, but it was a bad choice for 1st single, people werent ready for that from quik, he shoulda released black mercedes first.
