I just saw Beyoncé's Upgrade U vid and damn - another Jigga feature. It disappoints me. Songs like Umbrella, Upgrade U and every Beyoncé track where Jay makes an appearance could be so much hotter with another rapper on them.

IMO Jay is perfect for these type of songs, he might not sound at his best, but I dont see any other rapper having such catchy and "instant hits" verses; like Upgrade U, Umbrella, Deja Vu, Crazy Love....

I already explained what having Beyonce had to with people discussing his music with bias, jealousy. Kingdome Come was still at least a 3.5/5 album. I'm not saying every track he's had is golden or even good. He has made quite a few wack songs, but the hate he is on the recieving end of at times just seems a little TOO bias.

Songs like "Miniority Report", "30 The New 20" ( not a greta track, but clever and original none the less ). Again, poetry and art are free expression, it should be ORIGINAL and creative. Ya Boy is NOT very original, he raps like ever other NY mixtape emcee, I'm sure if youvce only been exposed to Frisco rap, then Ya Boy could be looked at like a true emcee, but I've seen and heard rappers just like him for years. Again, I DO like his music, but rappers like that come a dime a dozen. His subject matter doesn't separate him from the rest of the industry, whereas Jay is a one of a kind.

Wouldn't you rather hear a story line to a song, instead of just a basic flow? Youre comparing him to guys like Puffy & JD ( who are producers, 1st, they only rap because they have the money too ), but Jay is more along the lines of a Nas, Common type rapper. He may rap more about glitzy and glamour and junk like that more than the others rappers in his level, but he does have that skill. I'd much rather listen to music with a point, and topic to it. Something that could make me think, and listen to it again. If it still sounds good without having to rhymes, more power to them. IMO his rhyme schemes are amazing, even Crooked I agrees with that, but like Spargeez said, we all have our own opinions.

Reasonable Doubt and Vol. 2 HKL were certified classic albums. Check "Friend or Foe", matter of fact, the only ones who are callin Jay wack, probably haven't listened to his catalog other than the singles. True, he's getting older, and a bit more boring, but your comparing him to Short? Short hasn't said anything groundbreaking since Gettin It. After about 5-6 albums of that, I felt that his content just stayed exactly the same. Which is cool for one or 2 listens, but doesn't make me wanna go back to it. Yes he was extremely groundbreaking, and is still very well respected to this day, but on the level of Jay, I just can't see it. Short set the bar for a lot of rappers no doubt, he was here before most even knew what rap was, but Jay is one of those guys who took this rap thing, and took it to a whole nother level of lyricism. Obviously, that's what I perosnally judge a rapper by.
