I've loved that original colorway for years now, and back in 2005 got my 1st pair. It was like a childhood dream...
LOL, back in 1989 my mom wouldn't even listen to my attempts to get me these; I can still hear that conversation from 1989 right now: "Red and black shoes? You'll get shot, or worse yet, somebody will rob them off of you!!"
God I love those Jordans... IMO those 4's, the 5's, 11's and 12's are just soooooo clean...

Damn dude, haven't thought of Cortez in a while.
Back in the day I had so many pairs of Cortez from like 88 - 90 I went through like 4 pairs, lol. They were cheap at the time (less than like $40), but the lack of quality showed. As a kid, running around, the shoes would last maybe 6 months max.
The Cortez is damn near a trademark of Los Angeles.
I remember in 1991 when all the Cholos started rocking Cortez, it was time for me to find another favorite shoe ;)
