by the looks of it sounds like it was out for month since most of the tracks leaked already!
-
Kanye surprised me on the production! and its good to see Pop on the last track as usual!!!
-
Already heard 7 tracks out of 12.... why SouthSide and So far to Go make the tracklisting , both are old as fuck ... Gonna add I have a Dream at my personal version

I'm extremely disappointed. This album sounds so damn forced; it's like Common forgot all about himself, feeling like he had to 'save hip-hop' and come with a good album. It's creatively lacking if you ask me... Still an album that's very listenable and at times enjoyable, but never great, and never amazing. Common simply fails to live up to his potential here.
He dropped new verses for So Far To Go, but they're nowhere near as enjoyable as the ones on Dilla's album. Overall, the album is extremely lacking the right vibe; something which is what made BE so great in the first place.
4/5 : It was a potential classic, but it failed badly IMO. Still very enjoyable, but nothing really special.

A reviewer here in the UK hit the nail on the head, as far as I can tell. The reviewer basically suggested that this is Common's first album not to mark a musical departure from its predecessor. They were suggesting that "Finding Forever" is essentially "Be, Part 2." It's almost like Com's found his niche for the time being, and he's happy to stick with it.

Co-sign. It's been a while since we can say that.

This could be BE 2 , nothin really new , Kanye has laced the same type of beats since Late Registration, can't reinvent himself .. there is no wack tracks but nothing outstanding too.. hip hop audience seems to give a great review for material coming from MCs who are considering "real" hip hop whatever the quality of the album is ...

Yeah that if it ain't broke thought process is cool for some artists but for artists like a Kanye or Common I would like to see them push the boundaries each and every time out to create some new and innovative music. But BE is a great album so something along the lines of that ain't so bad either. ;D

^^^^ Kanye is uni-dimensional as a beatmaker ... I don't think dude can be that innovative ... a very few beatmakers are innovative anyways and it ain't easy to be..

He was stuck in those soulful vocal samples for a while and he still does do them, but at times he will drop some innovative beats. The beats he was doing for Roc-A-Fella before he started rhyming were good.

Its a Good album but im a bit disapointed...I thought it was too soft i guess i was anticipating something "like water for chocolate"
-
I call albums like this "biblical," meaning that they're good from front to back... Finding Forever is made how an ALBUM should be made, each track is enjoyable to the listener
no way i'm gonna complain about this album because it's solid.
also, did anyone notice the snare rhythm from the track "Forever Begins" is from "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" by Paul Simon, known to most on this board as the snares from quik's "50 Ways" (Quik pretty much ganked the whole beat from the beginning of Simon's track) 8)
peace

That, my friend, is what we refer to as an opinion. A judgement or subjective statement; the pseudo-rational conclusion drawn by the roaming mind.

im just a fan of hip hop music... been listening for a few decades...
the reason why i wrote ALBUM is because most of today's new artists rather see the $$$ from ringtones and put out bullshit albums with one or two hot tracks... i can respect the hustle, but it's really disrespectfully to the fans of the music... these new artists listened to the same shit i did growing up (some of us call it the "Golden Age" of Hip Hop), so i personally believe they should step their game up and want to put out a hot ALBUM that will be part of this generation's legacy to music/ Hip Hop history...
Again, it's only an opinion... hope feelings were not caught
peace
