One of my Muslim friends, used to be in a rap group in Chicago back in the early 90's. They were close to getting signed by Qunicy Jones son (QD3) and his group even opened up for show with Biggie when Biggie was a new artist. He converted to Islam though, and stopped doing music; he actually moved and lives in Riyad, Saudi Arabia now.
Anyway, I was talking with him over the internet about Common's new album. And he was telling me that he hung out with Common just one time. They were supposed to go to the club. And that there was a long line at the club, and Common got them all in ahead of everybody. Then all Common did was complain about "flashy" people, and how much he hated everyone trying to be so "flashy", and next thing they knew Common had left early cause he didn't like being there.
