I read these statistics in an email in 2002. That's 5 years ago. Since then two thirds (66 people) of the senate have faced re-election and all 435 representatives have faced reelection twice. So if the statistics you give are true, that means none of the 501 congressmen retired, all 66 senators won reelection, and all 435 reps won reelection twice.

yeah maybe not a 'bad' person.. whatever that means.. but you would think the people that make our laws would try to be examples of good citizens for the rest to follow. This ain't no 3rd world country where the leaders could act wild and go under the radar.

true, but the type of violations commited by third world leaders are more along the lines of rape, killing crowds of protestors, blocking television and internet stuff like that. a DUI pales in comparison.

lol at you taking shit seriously...first of all no1s perfect, i rather have someone like a congressmen be human rather then some perfect robot. Most of the shit you stated, is irrelevant and doesnt matter. Who gives a flying fuck if they stole a t-shirt, or they have bad credit. Does that make them not qualified to be in congress? Not to mention, im sure 75% of this shit happened before there were in office, people make mistakes doesnt mean they cant learn from them.

Parents are supposed to be the role-models and the teachers of their kin, first and foremost. fuck putting faith in a politician. Would you rather have a leader who is a sexual deviant but does a good job or a wholesome Christian family man as a leader but who fucks up the world?

Good point about rather having a leader who is a sexual deviant but doing a good job, but our government is looking more like corrupt deviants who fuck up the world. It wouldn't be as big of a problem if they were open about this, but they try to emphasize tougher laws and policies for things that they have done themselves.
