I just got back from the studio with DJ Quik and he wanted me to pass along this audio announcement about his Myspace page (myspace.com/djquik) being hacked by former business partners and that he is no longer operating it.

Also in a new video interview conducted tonight with DJ Quik & Snoop Dogg producer Terrace Martin for XXLmag.com & Raptalk.net, Quik states that the recent release of The Fixxers Midnight Life album on Myspace is nothing more than an illegal bootleg and that he has nothing to do with it.

This wasn't part of the interview, but last night I was talking to Quik about releasing the 1987 Underground Tapes. He still has them including the original 4-tracks ... He liked the idea and may decide to release them. Wouldn't that be something, huh?

Thanks for the updates Styles. And pretty much just ask Quik to release everything unreleased haha. He could just put them up as digital downloads. That's straight money right there without having to put up an investment and make it back. Definitely put that idea in his head, the fans wanna see that happen.

thanks for the update. thought quik had decided to scrap the fixxers idea, seemed that way. quik's myspace was hacked, but what about all the other myspace pages like the fixxers and 'smg' ones and the fact that whoever released it obviously had all the music available to them. anything to do with amg and his peeps or shall we wait for quik to address it in the interview?

Quik hasn't implicated AMG in any of this... it's all solely falling on this Baxter dude who was their business partner brought on for the album to promote it amongst other things.

I knew something was wrong when this became an online release. Quik takes too much pride in his music for a bullshit online release. He's always talking shit about mp3s and how they are compressed and you don't get the full affect of the music. But I'm glad The Fixxers are scrapped, it wasn't looking too good for them.

kinda off topic, but if u get a chance can u ask Quik about finally releasing that theme from BET's "Live From LA" featuring Ice Cube and Snoopy in CDQ... he's been asked about "Swallow Me" before and said he wouldnt release it in full because he wanted his unreleased songs to remain in the vault... understandably so, but "Live From LA" was released, but just not on tape...
anyways, if you could ask him this or somehow hook up some audio, you would make a lot of Quik fans happy

Like it sucks to see dude get hate.. I mean.. I had the pleasure to kick it with them (quik & amg) in studio a few times.. And it all started with amg inviting us.. I mean.. G is a kool dude.. Serious stuff..
He's the type u just wanna chill with.. Cuz he keeps life fun.. Ya know.. And I mean.. yeah everyone gots they're own oppinion it.. But u gotta admit.. He gots that flow.. That's unique.. He's one of the few artist I enjoy playing loud through the streets..

I actually was lookin forward to the Fixxers project, would be nice to hear som new style Quik production.. Dont get me wrong, I love his og-style, Safe+Sound is my all time favourite album...but still, I kinda liked the new twist. Cant do the same thing forever...
