Their both classics but Kurupt just himself spittin fire sounds better than 5 rappers on the same song IMO.

Kurupt of 95 was a top 10 MC in the game, I would put Prodigy of 95 in the top 10 but Capone, Nore and Khadafi were not

^Well you obviously haven't heard too much from Khadafi then, or maybe you haven't heard anything from him at all??? Khadafi was ill & still is. I can't say the same about Kurupt & the others weren't top 10 but they were still VERY tight.

I know Khadafi is tight he wrote basically all of Nore's raps back in the the War Report Days and he was known as "Intelligent Hoodlum" and he is from Queensbridge not too far from where I grew up but I don't know if I would put him as top 10 in that particular year 1995 but in no way am I hating on him I am a fan of his

^Sorry man I didn't want to come off as a jerk or something, I just feel like Khadafi is hugely underrated & from his start as Intelligent Hoodlum till right now I think he's one of the best & most consistant MCs out there.

no problem homie, your right about his consistency while other MC's at their peak Kurupt, Prodigy, were better overall I agree Khadafi has been consistent and underrated his whole carreer one of the best to come out of Queensbridge along with Nas and Cormega

I prefer New York New York. Kurupt rips that better than any of the rappers on this track although this is some classic shit back when NY was at its best.

That's a hot song. As far as being better than NY, NY: I don't know nor do I care. I just wish hip-hop was still like this. By that I don't mean we should go back to '95, but we should go back to the days of true MCing. Now this YOOOOOOOOU and YAAAAAAAAAAAH shit.

Thanks for reminding me of this track though. It fell off my radar.

Nas maybe,  but Prodigy no chance.  I think P in his prime was top 10 or top 15 but imo Kurupt was better in his prime.

I think it comes down to if you perfer grimey east coast sound or the laid back cali sound.  Can't gp wrong with either emcee in there prime.  Now grow a pair of balls and defend your stance on Mays Vs Mantle like a grown man.

It's not, neither is LA, LA. The video from DPG is what had NY in a uproar. Almost got them shot up too.

They were in a safe upper class white neighborhood called Brooklyn Heights.  Then after they almost got killed they moved to a even safer area for one day that being times square.  It would be like Mobb Deep shooting a video on Rodeo drive.

why are we all going back in forth about issues 10 years ago?

Anyway, although I like the NY, NY version a lot more, I also respect Mobb too.

Prodigy is a cool dude. I've had the chance to hang out and party with him on 2 different occassions out here in L.A. There were no anti-West sentiments and everything was all good....

one of the reasons the trailer got shot up is that Biggie went on Hot 97 and started saying that Pac was with them and they were shooting a video. Snoop and Tha Dogg Pound were actually suppossed to be on Funkmaster Flex that night but were refused entrance when they arrived at the station

First of all I was saying it doesn't get better than that when it comes to lyrics but if you wanna turn this in a "who's gangsta" argument then ok. Khadafi, Capone & NORE have all been in jail. Matter of fact thats where Capone & NORE met. Both Capone & Khadafi have been there multiple times & to to add to that Capone got stabbed or shot (can't remember). As for Tha Dogg Pound, I only read shit about them getting punked over & over again. & how are Capone & Khadafi sellouts??? I don't see them doing tracks with Diddy, Jazze Pha, David Banner & so on. Also I don't hear them rapping on south beats. Oh wait, what I just wrote applies to the DPG. Stop hating.
