It's hard to choose one of these AMAZING records..... Stillmatic and I Am are almost better than Illmatic and It Was Written.
It Was Written is like Chronic or Doggystyle,its a timeless record.
These 4 nas records shits all over the jay z discography.....and the diss track on stillmatic is MONUMENTAL 8)

I know Illmatic is regarded as his best. But I hated it when it came out, and I still can't fully get into it. I appreciate it tho. For me, Stillmatic is my fav. with it was written in 2nd.

Who voted for stillmatic? That is still a great album but nowhere near the level of Illmatic. Every song is listenable on Illmatic, but there are some easiy skippable tracks on Stillmatic.

for me it just is man, the whole vibe of the album.lyrically on IWW nas was CRAZY.Take that crazyness and multiply it by 5 and you get how crazy I think he was ot illmatic.And as musch as I admire the production on IWW some of the beats just can't fuck with vintage Large Professor, Pete Rock, Q-Tip...

Yep, I've been listening to I Am lately & it's grown on me alot but still I find it as an average album. I find it hard to believe that anyone could put I Am in the same sentence as Illmatic or even say its hot.

Lyrically = Illmatic > IWW
Musically = IWW > Illmatic
IWW aged better over time than Illmatic, IMO. Both are tuff, but I bump IWW more than Illmatic.

I Am is a different record and it can't be compared to illmatic,but i don't understand why you find it hard to believe that ANYONE can say it's hot. ::)

Ok, I apologize then. As for "I Am...", it has alot of great tracks & classics but all the wack & average tracks bring the whole CD down. Plus if they finished the album the way they did on the advance version I think it would be a whole lot better.

of course this record can't be compared to illmatic/it was written/stillmatic,but its better than gods son nastradamus streets disciple and hip hop is dead imho.
Stillmatic is almost @ the same level of It Was Written to me....we are talkin about two different records but Stillmatic is HUGE. Just this record is better than all the jay z records......

I never been too fond of Street Dreams and If I Ruled The World - good songs, yes - but overrated.
Last time I heard through God's Son, there wasn't one track I wanted to skip. IWW has too many fillers imo.
