I'm up early on my born day I'm 26...
Give me a minute to sit and reminisce
I remember six years ago,
I listened to Nas rap "Life's A Bitch"
on a day like this, and now today I'm 26...
The essence of my adolescents still beats in my chest
and my soul reaches to Atlantic Ocean sized depths
When I was young I used to do my thing hard,
was once a heathen until the day I found Allah,
Submitted and transitioned, sought knowledge and wisdom
Living out my destiny.. livin out my birth vision....
People I used to run with got career's and got degrees
Me? I got a treasury in my mind's eye full of memories...
Of the greatest women this Earth has ever seen...
Sat my feet in sands more majestic than you could ever dream
Got a piece of ass, smokin blunts with hash, back in my past
flowed with the Rasta's, and learned to feel out my way
Found peace that lasts, that inner wealth that will always stay
Even though I've lost major pay, I was happy that I lived that day
So now I'm 26, an Aires, and yes, still the one...
Tell my future, "muthafucker here I come"
Livin with no fear, mistakes are sure to follow
But I can't be fake, and hang with snakes that remain hollow
So big dreams and big failures fill my past and future
Another year has passed, as I continue to grow and mature
