Fresh off headlining this summer's Sprite Liquid Mix tour, rapper Jay-Z will return Nov. 5 with his seventh studio set, "The Blueprint II: The Gift and the Curse." The Brooklyn, N.Y.-based artist tells Billboard.com he sees the Def Jam album as a sequel of sorts to 2001's Grammy-nominated "The Blueprint," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It has sold 2.2 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"My whole thing was to record a whole lot of music coming off 'The Blueprint,'" Jay-Z says. "That was considered a classic as soon it came out. You know how people always compare an artist's last album to their latest? I knew that that was going happen, so I wanted to make sure it was extra tight."

"The Blueprint II" will mark the first time a Def Jam artist has released a double-disc set. The lead single, "'03 Bonnie & Clyde," features Beyonce Knowles of Destiny's Child fame. The set sports appearances from Dr. Dre, Rakim, the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams, Truth Hurts, and Lenny Kravitz. M.O.P., Roc-A-Fella's newest signing, also makes its label debut on the album.

As previously reported, Jay-Z has contributed the new track "8 Miles and Running" to the Eminem-led "8 Mile" soundtrack, due Oct. 29 from Shady Records/Interscope.

Wow, you DONE told us what?  WHo gives a fuck, everyone knew this would happen!  WHo cares aobut MOP, i can only listen to a couple songs before i realize all they shit sounds the same, just a bunch of yelling over dope beats.

I think it's a good move for both. Makes the Roc's line up even better than it is. I mean, Beanie, Bleek, Freeway, Cam'ron, now M.O.P., that's a really, really nice line up, and back up for Jigga to use if he goes round 2 with Nas. Good move for M.O.P., 'cause that means more sales, and they are pretty tight to me. Oh well  ::) Let's see. I'm more of a Nas fan, but I do want to see Jigga and Roc comeback, I'm not for the complete dystuction of a person.

I told yall this way back, and back then yall was like "Nah, it aint gon happen", "Nah, they too rugged for Roc", and now you act like you knew it all along..

Try to look positive on things, if you don't like M.O.P., why the fuck are you in this thread?

On the non-hater note though, this means that we can see M.O.P. over Kanye West, Rockwilder, Just Blaze beats, + they get more promotion, so they maybe can sell more than one unit (to me), as Haterats said, because they really ain't selling now.
