Title: Strong Debuts (non westcoast)
Post by: =[Euthanasia]= on May 03, 2002, 01:27:12 AM
Name some of the hip-hop artists (either solo or groups) that had STRONG debut albums, they don't nescessarily have to be classic records, just strong, solid albums that are impressive for debuts.

I'll start you off:

Nas - Illmatic
Sticky Fingaz - Black Trash..
Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang...

Then Why Did 704D Name "Illmatic" & "Enter The Wu..." On His Own List? They Are Both Classics.

They can be, but they don't have to be, aslong as their debuts & their strong at their least then it's all good.

They were both released in the same yr though, right? 'Cos didn't he have that record for having 2 #1 albums in the same year?

I own all DMX albums, and yeah, I definitely gotta say his debut album was the best... some raw, hardcore shit, my favorite on there was "Stop Being Greedy", it was dope as fuck... actually I think this album is close to classic, peace

True, "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot" was released in May 1998, I think it sold around 3 million copies... "Flesh of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood" followed 7 months later in December the same year (1998)... it didn't push as many units as his first album, but I'm sure it went platinum, peace
