Okay it seems Sccit, and I guess some other producers on this board, have found it okay to sample sounds st8 from Dre beats and other artists too I guess. I mean literally rip sounds right out of the actual beat (as opposed to using the same or similar sound from a sample disc or a module or sampler). What is everyones thoughts on this???
I think it's wack, not only is it illegal, but it's the principal of the thing: DONT SAMPLE FROM MODERN ARTISTS, ESPECIALLY FROM HIP-HOP WHEN UR MAKING HIP-HOP BEATS!

U call it sampling, like Im actually ripping melodies...Let me rephrase what your saying...What I'm doing is using the same sounds as Dre (Taken straight from a Dre track)...But however, I create my own melodies, and all that with the Dre-sounds...It's not sampling...Now tell me if there's something wrong with that?

ur using the same sounds ripped str8 from the track as opposed to the disc... how do u know if those instruments or samples are tweaked or not, which they are... they're tweaked to his liking. Not only that, what you call sounds are sometimes chords or a combination of different sounds that sound like one!

but puttin it on yur album or compilation and eventually selling it? HAHAHAHAHA, good lucc....alot of peeps think Oh, we'll never get caught, but guess wat? if U sell it in places like CALI U Eventually will....TRUST ME, IVE SEEN IT IN ACTION....

oh of course you could never sell a beat sampling that shit... but i would even be embarrased to make beats and give myself credit and post them on this site, he doesn't see anything wrong with it. He looks at it as a way of making beats, not experimenting. I'm all for experimenting.

Meech Wells, Jelly Roll, & Fredwreck dont sit there and cut out edited sounds from an already made Dre beat! And ontop of that, those producers use their own sounds and sample CD's, I'm sure Fredwreck doesn't roll over to Dre's crib and be like "Ay Andre, let me borrow that sample disc you used to make "MY DADS GONE CRAZY" on the new Eminem album".

Can u tell me whats the difference between getting the sound from Dre and Cutting it out from a disc? The only difference is with option two you don't get any permision, which i really could care less about since I'm not selling it...a sound is a sound, if I like it I'll use it...Just like Grimey said...PeAcE

and it is legal to sample a "kick drum" a "snare drum" a hi hat" one shots form any type of beat.
but as for sounds like pianos and shit i dont know.

if you can't even sample a snare or a fuckin' hi-hat, I doubt you'd be able to sample a piano or any instrument for that matter. Go listen to the battle between me and Sccit at the audio lab and listen to his beat. The stuff he sample is sooo obvioius that he took from Dre. As far as the drums I don't know, but I can hear three different Dre beats that he took sounds from. It's illogical to think that you can just pull sounds outta songs, especially from Dre, I mean he's just not gonna use a clean sound. He's gonna prolly use plugins to edit it and change it. Plus most of the sounds he uses are also prolly combinations of different sounds or chords.

if u see what Jsteez said, he said its LEGAL too pull out drums, hi hats, or snares, so if u can pull that shit out why couldnt u pull out an instrument? It's basically the same...

oops i thot he said its ILLEGAL... but that wasn't my first point to begin with, I just used that to back up my opinion... but primarily I wouldn't do it cause I think it's wack. I did that for like three beats when I first started producing and I got clowned on hard, and now I see why!

well I created this place a while back with psycreate and it was made to present beats and tracks...

I think it's aiight... not everybody's a dope producer like Phiasko, so we got to fuck with other peoples sounds for experimental purposes, and as long as it's just a net thang for his homies, it's all good.
