Single is definitely hittin...and the album itself sounds great. I only heard about 8 tracks, but there wasn't a weak spot I heard...and for his fans that were scared that he was gonna sell out or "crossover", they won't have to worry about that.

Great news.  The album, from what I've read about it, sounds like it could be one of his best.

From how I see it...his hardcore fanbase may not feel it's his very best, only because hardcore fans tend to ALWAYS prefer the artists lesser known albums that are more raw and unpolished...but this album here may be his strongest overall because it appeals to many crowds, but doesn't "cross-over" in that way. He has a track with Will.I.Am that some people may see as being commercial, but truth is, he's had many tracks on his pre-9th albums that had a similar vibe and energy to them. The track with Kokane he has sounds very West Coast, but he still raps the same way he always does and sounds natural on it.

Yeah I had noticed that Will I.Am feature.  I guess Snoop is on the record too.  Should be interesting to see how that collab turns out.  As far as the tracks that have been released so far--->Can It Be is great, Me & This Jawn is alright.  I'd love for Murs to get a little bit of exposure out of this one.  He's not gonna go platinum like he wants but he should gain some new fans.  As far as the release, I think I'm gonna hold off listening to any more songs from the album til Sept. 30th.

Yeah, I haven't heard Snoop's yet. It's hard for major established artists to go platinum, so if he can even go silver, I wouldn't be mad. I just want to see how it'll get pushed and promoted.

I pray that it doesn't leak. He had a copy at his apartment yesterday that was officially from the company, and I'd never seen them before...it had a regular type of plastic slip in, and it said something about "Official release, do NOT distribute" or something like that, and I know it only plays in certain CD players. I can see how they get leaked, because all it takes is the wrong person to see one of these at the studio or office, and they just snatch it, upload it online, and it's out there to everybody in the world.

That's not a promising sign if official discs are already printed up.  Like you said all it takes is one prick to ruin it for an artist.  This happened with the new Paris record that's dropping Sept 9th.  The advance was shipped out to journalists over a month before release and it leaked right away.  Individuals like Murs and Paris really deserve shit like that not to happen to them.  So we'll see what happens...

I feel you. I have no idea who else has it...I mean, it's no problem at all that he has it since it's his, but just the fact that it really is pressed up and official means that he probably isn't the only person who has it..and other people may not be as protective about it as he i. I am hoping it won't get out though, and if so, HOPEFULLY it helps more than hurts!
