Dj quik released safe and sound
Too bad Quik wasn't actually signed except under the name David Blake and that was for production. The only album he could have released over there is an album full of beats. Lol. I wonder how Suge got away with executive producing his albums.
John Crooks just about covered them all.
re-edit your post so it doesnt fuck every1 around like you did to me.

Not all of the artists listed even had official albums in the making for Death Row.

what? the group consisted on 2Pac, Daz and Murder Loc. They apparently recorded a 12 track album that was to be released by Death Row in early 97. all that was changed after what happened to Pac...

not all these artists had album deals but guest contracts.... or do ya really think suge inked an album deal with guess, paradise, lord g. or six feet!?!!?! man that ceo may be full ofshit but he would never sign a album deal with a mofo that never go platinum or even gold. thats the reason why he released all the compilations n sdtks. a few bucks 4 his "guests" and if the album goes plat or gold most of the doe was for the label -> suge knight.Record companies sign people all the time and never produce nothing on them. Many of them get chump change artist deals that pretty much keep them locked up so that a rival label can't come along and scoop them up. Nine times out of ten, the only money an artist ever sees is the advance they get upon signing.
I've crossed out a lot of those who never inked or were never meant to release shit.Petey Pablo was signed and was intended to release so why is he crossed out? C-PO was supposed to be a Dr. Dre produced project that came out around 1994-95 but Dre's plate was way too full back then.

^^ killz, the 2nd II none album has a death row logo on it,why?if they were never signed to the label?
p.s. what´s hollowpoint records?
murder 4 hire album was also goin to be released thru that label.
Enough with all the "who was and wasn't signed" arguments. All that matters is who recorded with Death Row or in the Death Row studio on Death Row studio time. Not being signed doesn't stop an artist from featuring signed artists or signed producers. Many artists recorded songs, some were erased, some were thrown away, some were shelved, some were released, some weren't. It just depended on if Suge felt the track was hot and successful at the time. Many of the soundtrack artists had several more songs, but only got a spot on the soundtrack because Suge felt their respective tracks were good enough. Many of the soundtrack artists were never paid. Shit, many of the signed artist were never paid. Basically Suge simply let people record what ever they could, and if it caught his ear in a good way, he would take the song and do something with it. Many artists recorded albums, but only what they considered their album. Many times Suge did not acknowledge them officially recording a releasable album. This type of shit happened because basically Suge opened the studio wide open for artists to come and go. There was never specific times for artists to record. They just did as they wished. It must be understood that this wasn't a structured label like many out there. Suge would handel the legal shit later if it was needed..thx
