Ice Cube – The Essentials will be released on September 16 by Priority Records. This collection overlaps 2001’s Greatest Hits with only three songs, making the set worthy of pickup. This set spans 28 years and is a complementary addition for Ice Cube fans.

A lot of those songs weren't on the other Greatest Hits album.

how can they put a new song (Cold Places) on there? Doesn't Cube own his Lench Mob masters?

Most of those songs are the independent ice cube songs how does priorety have right to the newer songs

This is a Capitol/EMI album I believe.  Priority folded under the Capitol umbrella.

EMI is behind Raw Footage so Cold Places and the Why We Thugs placement seem right.

i was aware of the distribution deal, but i thought Lench Mob records owned the masters  ;)

i guess not.

im sure ice cube oked this there was an ad in the raw footage cd
