Title: r mothers really better equipped then fathers to look fter babies?
Post by: morbidenigma on August 16, 2008, 08:38:53 AM
apart from breast feeding theres nothing a father can do that a mother cant. Even if that problem arises you have powder milk nowadays.

the other point i wanted to raise is that women act like they dont wana life of carry anyhting which may be as small as 3-4 kg, yt if it means they dont have to go out and work, there completely fine with havin to hold/pick up a 1-3 year baby that can weigh between 1 to 3 stones. Men are physicially stronger then women, so with all that lifting/carrying the little one around, wudnt common sense tell you a father is better equipped to look after a baby.

also the fact that women panic much more when something goes wrong e.g when you cant stop a baby crying, where as men deal with situations in a more calm and collected way, and if anything when women panic it messes up the situation more.

I don't think so. I think its a case by case thing. I know some horrible mothers, great mothers, horrible fathers and great fathers. Asking if all women are better at raising kids is like asking if all blacks are better than all whites at sports.

basically yes. It's women who wants babies first, who are always worrying about their kids and shit. My mom always had a special connection with us even though i have a great father. It's team work, you can't raise kids without one of them by the mother is clearly closer to the kid while the father's working like a horse to feed them

I'll give you a stupid answer, maybe, but it's the only right one. The best equipe is mother+father. A kid needs both of them, not just one. Then it's all about single persons being bitches or mature. If someone is mature enought, he can get care of his kid, no matter if he's a father or a mother. It's all about sacrifying part of your life to grew up your kid. And i'm a father myself, so i know what i'm talking about. Kids need both, man. But yeah, generally women are better. And yeah, they have tits. lol.

i've studied this shit when they forced me into a psychology course, i had no choice, it was that or getting kicked out the school. There's like 4 stages that kids goes threw in low ages and it's all about the conflict with the father. Basically the boy'll try to take his father place, but a girl will be in conflict with the mother and try to get daddy's affection more. Naturally good fathers are really rare so most of the time the girl will turn to act like her mother. From the times to times you'll meet some girls who were real close to their father and they end up being tomboys

Can't argue with that.

There's like 4 five stages that kids goes threw in low ages and it's all about the conflict with the father. Basically the boy'll try to take his father place, but a girl will be in conflict with the mother and try to get daddy's affection more.

Corrected. So much for taking Freud's psychosexual theories for granted :D

As for Momo's arguments for men being more fit for raising children:
- Fathers can provide babies with milk, but it won't be breast milk. Yes, a child can live off that, but are you aware that babies need breast milk for optimal development of their brains? Women still are better at feeding babies.
- Women are capable of carrying babies and young children around. No problem there. It doesn't matter how much stronger men might naturally be; women are physically capable of carrying babies. Just think for example: just because you might not have a dick the size of a porn star's, doesn't mean you're unfit for having sex, or even for reproduction.
- You say women are more easily panicked? People panic when they're in a situation they can't handle. Women don't panic so easily in social situations or when they're carrying the responsibility over a child. They panic when things go wrong, things which they can't handle. Computer crashes, a broken tv, a fire. That's when women panic, whereas men act a lot more rational in such situations. At the same time, women are generally better at handling situations which involve other people. It's more likely the man who'll panic when the child appears not to be so easily 'mechanically manageable.' It's all about the differences in neurological equipment between men and women.

Plenty of exceptions to those rules, but generally speaking... That's the way things go.
