Propz, about to check it out!!!

Good interview, some very nice questions were asked. I am kinda worried about his next album, he went out of the box with UV and flopped. Now he's starting to talk like 50.
-
Johnny: Leave ya feedback when u done reading it!
Meho: Thanks a lot for the compliment. Will see how the next album turns out
-
Fuck yeah! Props Luna!

Too bad he didn't leave the Nas verse on the final version of Roll Call
As far as the next album... obviously the choice of working with big artists and consciously making singles is influenced by the flop of UV.
Nobody can hate on success. Nobody can. If your single comes out and hits number one, what can anybody say about that? That’s the goal regardless of how it sounds.
Everyone hates on the successful. People hate on Wayne and Soulja Boy to almost an extreme (not that they don't deserve it). This has me worried. I wonder how far he's willing to go.
I’m not going to say I have some super formula, I’m just trying to make stuff that I think sounds good; “this sounds like something that will be popular music that a lot of people like” and that’s the goal. If your just doing music for yourself – 50 Cent said it and other people said it – do music in your basement because if I was just doing it for myself then honestly a lot of the stuff I like; some of the most classic records I like is the stuff that never sells. I don’t like all the singles that are top ten singles on the charts; I don’t like ‘em. But that’s what the market is. Fans just need to allow somebody to have success. I can actually put out a dope album and be done after this album and have a label not want to give me no more money; I know my fans don’t want that. So they better help me have success (laughs).
I think this is one of the first real repercussions of the new age of music. Or atleast, the first time I've recognized it. People didn't support good music when it dropped, and now we're gonna get a stylistic change. Get ready.

wait til we at least hear the first single before y'all sing the sellout song!

Great read Luna, props for this man!
I gotta agree with R1ZE to some point; when I read about the new album, I was like - "he's going all out commercial-wise" - Let's hope it doesn't ruin it.
Anyway, Cham got ALOT to say, and that's always much better than "yes", "no" or one line answers.
-
great interview luna, good read.
Cham doesn't really have me worried. it's hard to believe that he would go completely commercial after sayin nearly his whole career "that it's wack music.". it's definatly not out of the question, but just hard to see.
Classic Material...im right here lol. last Cham album, what song did we hear first? "Not A Criminal". WACK song, flow was good...hook SUCKED, beat was terrible. terrible way to get the people anticiapting that shit. turns out though...that didn't come close to makin the album...and we all see how his last album turned out. ::) if he puts out some wack shit for mainstream buzz, im not goin to support it, but what he says on album (and MM5) is what matters to me.
UV>SOR, no doubt, but...Ridin'>Hip Hop Police (TO THE MAINSTREAM). thats the reason why the first one sold more. honestly, he didn't have great promotion, Hip Hop Police wasn't that radio kind of song. no one bought it. songs like Ridin' are cool with me on an album. not really poppy. i mean the chorus was kinda of, but it was catchy. songs like Whatever You Like & Lollipop are not goin to happen. Chams creative, he'll figure something out to sell.
Cham had a lot to say about the presidential campaign lol.
sorry if im goin on & on, but this is one of my fav's, i gotta speak on him as most of you do about your fav's.
also...i said that he prolly left material off MM4 to put on MM5. looks as if i was right lol. ;)

Thanks a lot Dub! He sure did have a lot to say; he's very intelligent!

thanks alot!
I'm not too worried either, I don't think it'll be a major change; somethin like "ridin" or "turn it up" is cool with me as a single
I doubt the single will be wack; this is 1 of the most consistent artists out, period from any region
ofcourse UV>SOR and yeah to RD>HHP in terms of mainstream
he sure did have a lot to say about the presidential campaign, he's an intelligent figure!

he is pretty intelligent. him & Nas seem like the only two who have an intelligent point of view towards this, and not just saying "Yeah! He's black, so he's got my vote!" lol. :P

Ridin Dirty > Hip Hop Police to me too
yeah yeah he has the verse where he mentions the chronic and the clips etc
its been done. ridin dirty is just a funner listen

But he looks like he's missing a few kromosoms and shit. He looks retarded.

Great interview. Cham is one of the most intelligent rappers out there, and he always has a lot to say.
I agree that he had the best album of the year in 2007...

I interviewed Killer Mike not that long ago; like June or so.

Good job on the interview.
A little constructive criticism on the formatting... (and this may be out of your hands, I don't know)
Why is the font sometimes enlarged in Cham's responses? Is it for emphasis or what?
Also, for someone like Cham who is obviously intelligent and gives long, thorough answers, you should really break up the responses into paragraphs or something because it is very difficult to read one giant paragraph. I did not finish the interview because it was too tedious to try and make sure I didn't skip a line every other second.
But overall I thought you asked pretty good questions and conducted the interview well. Peace.
