I bumped the hell out of this when it dropped,all original production on this mix-tape/street album so you might as well just call it a album :P ;).
Shit is fire from start to end... Searching got be one of my favorite tracks in 2008.

Although this album clearly is leftover tracks Rap-A-Lot has thrown together,shit holds high quality all the way through.
No need to break down each track,all is above average.. no skipping. ;)

I haven't listened to Smoke Sessions yet but I agree with you. I like that "leftover"-album a lil bit more than Landing Gear. Although I would give them 3,5 and 4. ;)

I consider it a "slow" album :P the style is pretty similar to Genacide and One GudCide. You know I love that style ;)

I agree that Devin is out of his element on some of the tracks (the hardcore ones),but he kills the slow ones.

devin to me is in the same boat w 8ball n mjg with me... its always like 2-3 songs i like off bat..but i never bother to play their shit ever for awhile..
then i interstate skate wit it in the deck...n what was 2-3 songs i liked...turn into enjoyin the whole album...
n hi-life i cant force myself to like that album...kuz it has a fucked up version of the song alchemist produced..n when it dropped i was in washington state at the time..at fye..
i picked up all his shit again..since i was gone be up there for awhile..i aint have no music on me...as im grabbin everything ..what i thought was a white dude said u forgot one n reached around me n put that hi-life shit on top of everything...
i was like ionwan that bullshit mayne...its garbage..then the dude was like shit u got everything else of the dude might as well pick this up too..i turned around n it was devin n rob quest laughin...n devin was like i wouldnt buy the shit neither n i wrote some of the songs..its all good my last check anyway..lol

For '08, I gotta go with "Landing Gear". Not his best album, but it's better than the mixtape and the Rap-A-Lot leftovers. That Hi-Life album has some great songs, though ("My Occupation" w/ Bushwick is amazing). I liked the Smoke Sessions, but I was really disappointed with the sound quality when I bought this (some songs sound like demos). Overall, it was a solid year for Devin. Devin=the most consistent hip-hop artist. Still waiting for this banger to be released- http://www.zshare.net/audio/54244238d713dd9c/
