Is a TV tuner all you really need? I have a HD cable box so do I just run cable from the box to the back of my computer and that's it?
Also, there are so many TV tuners to choose from, does anyone recommend a certain one?

shit I need to take notes from this thread cuz I been wanting to do that

best thing to use is a HDMI audio/video input capture card for ur PC if ur HD cable box has HDMI out
or
if ur not worried about sound to much and can settle for just stereo sound
u can use a component video capture card on ur PC and rca for the audio

Getting a card with a HDMI input would probably be more expensive and I'd have to run over 20 feet of HDMI cable from my cable box to computer which would be expensive too.
I was thinking running coaxial cable from my cable box to my computer would be my best option but I'm pretty new to this stuff.
Here is the back of my cable box and my connection options:

I found this tuner for a decent price, is there any reason this wouldn't work well?
