Ego Trippin didn't deserve to move units, the album sucked. First Snoop album in a long time not to feature Soopafly or Soopafly production. Is it a coincidence, then, that this album didn't sell, no. Snoop album with no Soopafly = no sales.

if snoop made his old signature westcoast gfunk albums from the 90's, he would always do atleast platinum.
snoop's 1999 top dogg & 2000 tha last meal albums both went more than double platinum.
snoop switched up his style on the paid tha coast album, and the consequences of that is that it only went 1.2 platinum.
thats a big drop from the sales that he was doing before. my question is why did he have to change his style if it doesnt sell as good as his older music?....
people buy snoop records to hear gangsta records, and not some pop bubblegum shyt.
i can only wish that snoop has changed his mind, and that his next solo album will be on some westcoast gfunk shyt like from 2000 and before then. but i wont hold my breath.
my guess is he will make an even more gay pop record to sell instead of doing the type of music which made snoop a legendary rapstar.

the financial crisis only happened in the 2nd half of 2008

Hopefully Snoops next album will be better, he should see that "Ego Trippin" could've been really dope, there were really dope songs on there, but it was just TOO soft, thats not what his fans want, and they dont want country rock. That shit is cool, to experiment, but do that on mix tapes.
