It's finally here...
Raptalk.Net and myself (Lunatic) have been pushing this "Unity" compilation for quite some time. As promised, today, January 11 2009 sees the release of the project. More than just a mixtape with countless exclusives, "Unity" features Warren G, Knoc-turn'al, The Game, J Holiday, Bad Lucc, Trick Trick and more. A lot of hard was put into this project for it to simply be released for free, so we ask that all of our readers who download the project help spread it around and make all your friends download it as well!

i just downloaded this and i'm sure it's great but from previewing a few tracks it sounds really really low quality on my system :-\ why 128kbps??? shit should be 192 atleast....

First of all I have to share two complaints ;D
1. The bitrate is 128k and that caused a loss of quality. The volume is low;
2. The songs aren't ID3 tagged.
Now my opinion on the music:
It's a decent album. The vibe of the album is good, but the first half is much better than the second half. The only songs I dislike are "Where I'm From" (I dislike a Warren G production, wtf?), "Monday 2 Sunday", "We Bringin' Real Hip-Hop" (how can you put crap like this on your project??) & "My Language". All of these tracks are on the second half.
Standout songs for me are "Make Moves", "Who Can I Run To", "Money, Power, Respect", "Take You Away" & "Holdin' It Down".

luna i wanna listen but is there any way you can drop a 320kbps version regardless of the file size. quality is low even for 128kbps mp3's and it sounds like there is a lot of cool music on here....

^it's cool, thanks for the honest opinion. It's so long, not surprised/shocked if y'all don't listen many times. I think its a nice setup for the Unity album I am currently working on. It'll be much more album format, 14-18 tracks. All original production (mainly by my in-house producers) and 95% of the songs will be created specifically for my project. It's gonna blow y'all away 8)

which steps do i take using winamp to id3 tag it?

Click on the song and press left Alt+3 or right click in the playlist and View file info ;)

same method but if you fill out the ID3v2 part you can get a lot more characters etc into each field (artist, track name etc). good looks on getting a 320kbps version in the works 8) everyone is on broadband these days and has giant hard drives so lower quality mp3s are really a thing of the past.
another useful thing to include is a playlist file, something you find on all scene releases. again winamp can do this if you queue up all the songs in order and then pick the save playlist option. i always make one myself if there isn't one included for an album/compilation...

I actually got in touch with Torae through a mutual friend out in NY. I didn't even really speak to him to be honest. I told my NY homie I needed some east coast cats on the project cuz i'm connected on the west and down south mostly...so he spoke to Torae himself, told him what the project was about and Torae was all the way with it, thankfully cuz that's a bangin ass track he gave me!
