i still say 'Ice Ice Baby' is an awesome track
the lyrics, flow and beat all come together nicely
if it wasnt done by some white dude and was so popular, people would be labelling it a classic track
-
quite honestly... i lved the track as a kid... made fun of it in my teens but now.... i hear that shit at a club.... its bumpin like a mofucka...lol

Too bad Ice didn't apologize for being such a hothead on surreal life

They make it seem like the world won't let go of his past but I think it's more to do with him. It's not that people are still holding on to that but nobody really cares otherwise. He may have more manufactured than say an MC hammer or Young MC but even if what he talked about in his music was authentic, he's still had his moment in the spotlight. He chose to take the dollars and be that image so when that image faded out so did the mainstream public's affection for him. If anything, he should forgive himself. What he did was kind of corny but 20 years later, he should just have a sense of humor about it and enjoy it for what it was.

What a fucking pussy... I think that, to this very day, Robert Van Winkle's biggest wish is to be accepted by his negro buddies.
How is he gonna apologize for his biggest achievement ever? Ice, Ice, Baby, like it or not, was the biggest rap song of all time, and it helped popularize a whole genre by bringing it out in the spotlight. I'm sure there's loads of people who discovered rap trough Vanilla Ice and developed into fans of "real" hiphop... I know for damn sure that I probably wouldn't be into rap in a mayor way if it wasn't for the pop rap of the early 90's (not IIB, but the genre in spawned), so THANK YOU VANILLA ICE!
-
Fuck Robbie VanStinkle !!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
-
You Gotta Check Out The "Weed Song" On His V-Ice Album.
Crazy Shit, I Really Like This Track.

That's how I feel too...

Vanilla Ice still has all his cheddar, name me rappers from the early 90's that still do.

Sorry for what? "Ice Ice Baby" didn't ruin Hip Hop. Its actually a lot better than 97% of the songs Ive heard on the radio in the last few years.

I agree, Vanilla Ice gets alot of flak but ice ice baby is a good track. His flow was awesome.

So Vanilla Ice gets a pass cuz he broke some of us into Hip-Hop.. Even tho his style was a crossover from Pop and Rap.. Now I bet if you listened to Rap before that and were already on it, you would think the song is shit right? So why does Soulja Boi get hate when he did the same thing. He made a universal record that was appealing in more than 1 genre.. He's putting Rap on the map to some of the ppl who never got into it before... Which opens doors to better artists...
If Ice Ice Baby wasnt a real deep or meaningful song but it was catchy and shit, so it's all good. Why isn't Superman Dat Hoe in the same category??

i think vanilla ice is being sarcastic in this video.

Word, atleast Ice is real.
I mean... most these fools today don't even realize they have anything to apologize for. Atleast Vanilla Ice knows what he did was make a mockery of hip-hop.

Look up the word "NOSTALGIA" that's the only reason people are talking about that song.
