ok well lets make this clear Elano... no MEXICANS are from the U.S. we are either (Latino, Chicano, Hispanic, whatever the fuck you wanna call it) coming from a spanish heritage in America... for instance im Chicano cus my family is a decent from mexico but we grew up in America in the barrio... i have Spaniard in me too cus my great grandfathers family was from Spain and married a Mexican woman...
if you met a mexican from Austin then he is prolly not a legal citizen of the united states and is from Mexico... not every hispanic from Texas is a wetback you know...
and not every Hispanic/ Latino is from Texas or illegal
also my cousin moved to Austin and LOVES it. she says its one of the most Liberal cities here in Texas and you have alot of opportunities their... of course i also got cousins from barrios there. if you like to Rave or be a homo then Austin is the place to live
from what i know Austin is full of queers and homos and i wouldn't go their any time soon id rather go to San Antonio, Houston or Dallas/ Ft. Worth area's. Ive been to every section in Texas. Austin is pretty cool but its alot better if you fit into one of those categories
if i wanna go to the Mountains we have good ol' Amarillo or El Paso for that and if i wanna go to a bomb as beach i just stay where im at...

we have a GREAT Jazz festival that comes around here and New Orleans
we have many rock bands that play that are great... we have the Houston rap of course
and Tejano/Mexican/Marciachi players too
of course you cant forget about the Country that comes from here
we have an overall great music scene and when you go to a concert very seldom will you leave disappointed/ or sober lol

My moms family is a bunch of back east wops from new york who go in and out of english/italian during conversation. there are a lot of similarities in hispanic/italian american culture, but also some pretty big differences

and every person with an Italian background i have met and gone to school with here admit they can really relate more to Hispanics then any other race including whites
