Title: 8 Mile Soundtrack
Post by: _That_Cracka_J on October 25, 2002, 03:26:20 PM
I just picked up the 8 mile soundtrack, and it sounds dope.  Especially "Love me" with Em, Obie, and 50.  The Jay-Z song and the Nas track is tight too.  The Aftermath sampler has a tight ass Em song called "Stimulate" and a 50 Cent freestyle to the "Till I collapse" instrumental.  Track #4 (Gangsta) defo sounds like Dre production.  The cat rappin' on there (Joe Beast) has a dope flow.  Great soundtrack--worth the money.

Did you actually buy it or d/l?

Did anyone know this album is also dropping through Aftermath...and Dre isn't even on the actual soundtrack.  Unless he produced something, but it seems like Em did most of the production.  The only track possible is the Rakim one...I haven't heard it though.

I actually bought it from the Record Store.  There is no Aftermath logo on the back of it.  And I don't see Dre's name mentioned on any song...yet.  I have just skimmed over it, but his name is definitely NOT on the back of the CD.

I always thought Shady Records is a sublabel of Aftermath, so why isn't Aftermath mentioned?

On the sampler the tracks by Shaunta, Brooklyn, & Joe Beast are all produced by Dre.

Copped the soundtrack earlier today, and so far I'm feeling every track. I didn't get to hear much of the version that leaked so most of the material was fresh to my ears. Can't wait to see the actual film now.

Well Dr.Dre is mentioned............em and shady records in the booklet on the bottom said thanks to just Dr.Dre and nobody else....

IMO, Dre let Em spread his wings.....he isnt trying to do what Bitch Simon did and dip his hand into everything his artist does......not like Dr. Dre needs any more money......as you can see, em is producin more, something he must of learned from dre, or at least freshened up his skillz.  im sure Dr. Dre is like a proud poppa.........  no need to help em out no more...

im sure they will work together on certain future products.........albums..like the 50 cent...collabo.....

Bought it today, pretty dope shit.
I don't like these ones though:
The Macy Gray-song, The Nas-song, Boomkat-song & Young Zee-track.

Otherwise the rest was dope.
Whoever was bullshittin that the Nas-joint was produced by Alchemist?
That shit is nowhere near Alchemists level..

And Nas was not dissing Jigga. That was only in the beginning. He was mainly dissing Nature. That's who is trying to be him, and was from under his wing. We forget The Firm, and the fact that Nature dissed him with Look Who's Talking, which was a desent track, but not on Distroye and Rebuild level. Damn, Nas is really just fucking people up now. And I think Ja Rule ain't going to be on his album, if so, better not be on that R&B bullshit. Nas is just straight hot right now.

Yeah. LoL @ Vigilante gettin all wet when he thought Nas was dissing Jay-Z.
Lyrically the Nas-track was dope, but the beat was anus, and the hook was annoying at best.

Nas gotta face facts: He can't produce.
Hopefully Alchemist & Large Professor will lace him with some heat on the album.
