Title: Ramadaan Mubarak to All The Muslims At The Forum
Post by: TraceOneInfinite Flat Earther 96' on August 23, 2009, 02:56:54 AM
May you derive the full benefit and blessings from this Ramadaan.

I've been a Muslim since the year 2,000 and been fasting Ramadaan since 2002.  I haven't been practicing at a very high level the last couple years.  Last year I kind of slipped up during Ramadaan.   But this year the first night of Ramadaan, I had two bats flying 6 inches above my head when I was trying to sleep at night (had never seen bats before this, and nobody else saw them in the area but me).  It scared the shit out of me, and all I can think to do is fast and pray now that that happened.

After Ramadaan I will re-evaluate my situation as a Muslim, but as for now I am going to try to make all the prayers, fast all the days, and lower my gaze to women, pray the extra night prayers (taraweeh) when I'm off work, and fulfill all the rights of this Ramadaan.  I have had to take it all as a sign for me.

I also couldnt fast last year cause of work.

But this year I am.

Ramadan is like the only good thing about Islam.
I like it. It really strengthens your will power.

Islamic calendar is 11 to 12 days (based on moon-sighting) shorter than the Gregorian calendar.

and Ramadhan Mubarak to everyone; this year everyone started on the same day too, which is good because it shows some unity.

Yeah.. your right, Ramadaan is one of the best practices in the religion.  I know Muslims all over the world who don't pray during the year, but when Ramadaan comes they fulfill all it's rights and fast the whole month, and make all 5 prayers throughout the day.

I'm not trying to tell anybody that that's the way you should be a Muslim, is only practicing during Ramadaan; but if Muslims can at least be united and strengthened during one month of the year, then that's a start.
