Dunno. I know that Smoke Enough Bud is produced by Snoop. Dogg Collar sounds like it was made in 96-97.

You know that dog said you liked to watch Pokemon on mute while playing NWA.  Guess you could relive the moment but with these newly aquired songs.  Just don't kick Snoop Dogg.  He's a rapper, not a four legged canine.

I pre-ordered this the other day from Amazon.com.  It's tempting, but I think I'm gonna try to wait until I get the cd to listen.  The snippets sounded dope though.  Initially I was disappointed that we weren't getting any unreleased Dr. Dre.  But I have to say, even though they weren't able to hook it up with the unreleased Dre, the tracks they did pick for this collection sound great.  I think they made some good selections.  Looking forward to seeing what they do with the unreleased Snoop collection next.

I'm definately crossing my fingers for a Wideawake CPO release now... Foo Nay Mic (definately could pass off as a Dre beat imo) is a fucking classic, and Slippin In The West is a heater!

shame they couldn't find out who produced what, so its all a guessing game now :-\

Poor Young Dave - sounds like Dr. Dre did it imo

Slippin' in the West - sounds like Daz

Smoke Enough Bud - could've been Dre.. not sure about this one

Foo Nay Mic - sounds like Sam Sneed

Dogg Collar - could've been Dre.. not sure about this one

Touchdown - sounds like DJ Pooh

Would You Ride - I'm stumped, idk who.

agree with all but Dogg Collar, this sounds like Doggfather snoop and the beat is to much like the original sample for it to be a dre beat..

Would You Ride, doesn't sound like it be coming out of the Death Row Era (compared 2 all the other tracks anyways). Possible that its a Accpella put over a new beat? well it its not dr. dre That's for sure.

its a dark beat, something Daz would do. sounds deathrowish to me.

I don't think any of these songs were professionally mixed. "Poor Young Dave" suffers substantially from lack of mixing and "Would you ride" is of unpresentable  quality....just listen to kurupt's verse??

What's the email for WIDEawake, not mixing these down is unacceptable if they have the reels.

you're cause is futile.  :D

as long as there is an 'Internet' this kind of piracy will co-exist. there is nothing anyone can do about it. either don't release it or go back in time are your only solutions to this "problem".
also Warren G album, Daz Dillinger, Slaughterhouse links are already out there. it's up to the individual to make the choice to actually support the hard-copy releases.
no one can argue that having mp3's is better than an actual CD, that's just plain retarded.

maybe my expectations were too high, or i need to listen to them more.

haha, that statement is retarded.  Why do you think CDs and record sales are dying out?  Because digital music > music on CDs
I downloaded these tracks and if someone gave me that CD for free I wouldn't even open it, don't think I've played a CD in years.

I listened to the low quality original and the snippet of the Re-Lit version, only difference I see is an added bassline riff.  Other than that, same beat seems intact.  Like someone else said, this might be the final mix that we never heard before.  Probably might even be several different mixes of the song on the master reel, and this was the most complete

as long as there is an 'Internet' this kind of piracy will co-exist. there is nothing anyone can do about it. either don't release it or go back in time are your only solutions to this "problem".
also Warren G album, Daz Dillinger, Slaughterhouse links are already out there. it's up to the individual to make the choice to actually support the hard-copy releases.
no one can argue that having mp3's is better than an actual CD, that's just plain retarded.

haha, that statement is retarded.  Why do you think CDs and record sales are dying out?  Because digital music > music on CDs
I downloaded these tracks and if someone gave me that CD for free I wouldn't even open it, don't think I've played a CD in years.

it seems to be cause people care more about convenience than quality these days. if there was a market for quality, maybe super audio cds or dvd audio might have taken off. mp3 is worse quality than cd though and thats still pretty shoddy. vinyl easily wins for quality.

Smoke enough Bud, was the intro track for  the song You Thought, from the Doggfather record. Its the song wit too short and soopfly

I'm well aware this is why CD-sales suck-ass, but as far as SOUND QUALITY/FIDELITY you STILL can't argue to me that even a 320kbps mp3 will BUMP harder in your car or home stereo system than an actual MASTERED-CD. (thats of course assuming that your not relying on bunk computer squeakers, which looking at the gist of your statement you don't KNOW shit about REAL SOUND QUALITY.)

before anyone says anything else, I believe the music industry has fucked up. they where blind-sided by the internet & if that wasn't bad enough the mp3 revolution has come.
they should have been paying attention to this instead of the RIAA spending their resources on prosecuting wack music piracy, when instead they could have utilized the invention of Free Lossless Audio formats & other lossless venues, this would have combated the steep drop in CD-sales. Jimmy Iovine & Dr. Dre are the pioneers along w/ loads of others to fix this problem facing the music industry.

I was one of the first to buy the FLAC formats of Relapse when it came out, so there is a market out there for it, they (the music industry) just need to take matters into their own hands.

http://www.eminem.com/purchase/ (http://www.eminem.com/purchase/) Premium Digital $14.99 all it is, is the EAC of the original CD. I also coped that (the CD) eventually.

don't worry, the CD is as GOOD as it gets, as far as quality. Free Lossless Audio Codec is a precise/compact rip of the CD.  ;D

I bet more than half that have actually clicked that link wont be supporting this release. There's always one fag out there willing to throw up links.. Hay while you're at it, you should throw up the links to the new Warren G album, Daz Dillinger, Slaughterhouse and so on

Take your cape off you FUCKING FAGGOT!

It's because of little morons like you I have it on in the first place. You'll the be the first within days to whine like a little girl as soon as WIDEawake announce they are selling the catalouge to Cash Money - which is a possibility considering Universal would have been willing to put up the money, and have been an interested party in the past before WIDEawake secured the deal.. Oh yeh that's right - Cash Money!!!! Birdy will be all over it, quicker than half this board on a download link

Bow Wow's next album will feature Snoop Dogg, Daz, Kurupt, & Nate Dogg

Lil Wayne's album after that will feature production from Dr Dre, and feature artists: Jewell, Snoop & Daz

^^^

There's the potential future right there.

They've also fkd up by trying to milk artists work, and put out poor quality releases from puppets... The last 10 years for the better part, have been very few quality releases on the mainstream front compared to that of the early 90's. Promotion is put into empty singers with no artistic qualities to them, and the public tire of them very quickly, and all that effort, time, money and wasted TV/Air time is in fact "wasted", but the music label have made their quick buck!

In the UK (don't know about US) you walk into a CD section of any store, and it's "classic" this and "greatest hits" that.. "classic Reggae Hits" and re-cycled music from EVERY genre... Look at the first page of play.com's music and it's "Cream Trance Classics" and "big tunes:back to the 90's" to name a few. The industry know that the last 10 years have offered nothing in terms of filling a 2/3 disc set that people will actually buy,  and it's their fault for pushing crappy music. The autotune is the next bombardment of garbage that - although will probably see a quick sale - will contain little quality that will ensure a place in a "greatest" compilation set a decade(s) down the line. I'm sick of paying £15 for a CD with 3 good tracks, and the rest skippers, and gave up store buying many years ago, and buy from the internet through reviews, sound samples, and overall knowledge or anticipation, because the range now has reduced.

You could go into HMV and find at least 3 DJ Quik CD's. Now there's none, even Trauma

A little bit extreme don't you think? Regardless of old rumours, I can't see the catalogue being sold on just because a few people on the internet download some bonus tracks. Don't you think everyone would have the same problem with people bootlegging? therefore, why would it benefit ANYONE to purchase the catalogue?

Ego's and reps being a considerable reason. Rappers like Lil Wayne/Birdy try their hardest to push a "gangster" image for their current records - hence the reason for the fake blood characters they've tried hard to create for themselves. The thought of being able to use/manipulate/exploit (choose any word you'd like) the Death Row catalouge to further than belief would be a god-sent! Not to mention the obvious of owning an essential part of Hip Hop history, and it's huge unreleased collections

I could have understood if Death Row hadn't already been purchased but that argument isn't valid seeing as though WideAwake own the rights now. A few leaks won't change that.

If there was a rumour about Cash Money you should probably forget about it now! I mean, if they wanted Jewell or Daz/Kurupt on an album they could probably afford them anyway. Why would they want to use 15 year old vocals?!

I'm not even lookin' forward to these anymore, the snippets didn't sound so great and damn, why the fuck did they have to "re-produce" the beat on "Poor Young Dave"?

how do u know they re-produced it?? the one we had for years may be unfinished and this may be the final mix

You can clearly hear that the beat has been touched, i think somebody even confirmed here that the beat was re-made.

No way. That sounds like a more finished & less skeleton beat behind that. Man i wish Snoop could make songs like Poor Young Dave still. He had some fire in his raps back then. Thats why when u listen to Dogg Collar u can tell its doggfather coz Snoop raps changed from doggfather on wards

You sound like a George W. Bush policy maker trying to scare the nation by stretching the truth. Theoretically yes, that scenario could have played out.

Theoretically.

You're not looking at reality thought. Reality is that Cash Money, as well as Bad Boy, Sony, Def Jam, So So Def, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, etc. had their chance to buy the entire Death Row catalog when it was up for sale. Reality is that NONE of the people I mentioned bid enough Money to purchase the catalog. Wide Awake did.

So please stop with the scare tactics. People are not going to buy music because they're scared of Lil' Wayne hopping on a track with '93 Snoop Doggy Dogg (which could happen anyways on a Weezy mixtape). People are going to buy music because they like it.

That last verse on "Poor Young Dave" is an RBX verse from "Mom's Are Cryin'" (The RBX Files). The 2nd verse is also recycled on "Midnight Love" (or the other way around). Dope track, anyway.

I can;t stop bumping Slippin' In the West and Foo Nay Mic.The latter has a fucking amazing beat, Sam Sneed maybe?

ya, agreed! Foo Nay Mic is SICK!!

Quote
Sam Sneed maybe?

my suspicions, exactly...  ???

It does sound like Sneed but if you go back and look at the court documents with the asset list, Foo Nay Mic is listed under Sean "Barney" Thomas's name. I'm assuming it was labeled under him because he was the producer.

am i the only one who is kinda disappointed with these unreleased tracks? nobody was more excited than me when wide awake announced that they were releasing songs from the vault, but i think only a couple of these tracks have replay value.

maybe my expectations were too high, or i need to listen to them more.

They were unreleased for a reason.  Personally I think they're all dope.

Foo Nay Mic seems to reference the same names and story that Snoop mentioned on Poor Young Dave. Sounds like both songs as well as Slippin on the west were recorded for Murder Was The Case soundtrack. Its been brought up previously as to why D.A.V.E. (Death After Visualizing Eternity) is mentioned in the cover art

Some dude named San Man. Never heard of him on any other project. I always figured it was a Sam Sneed alias cos The Eulogy got that Sam Sneed sound to it.
