I like the majority of his music.  There's definitely a different passion you can hear in his voice when he first started out but it makes sense.

my fave tracks from the early 50 shit are 'The Hit' and 'Ghetto Qu'ran' 8)

he had more of street vibe to his earlier work.

you hear it throughout Get Rich or Die Tryin' too.

he naturally lost it, but he also moved on to a "gentleman/business man" & took some of the grimey accent out of his music.

it's obviously gotten worse over the years, but even Curtis wasn't something i just threw in the trash; it had a few good jams.

he has one of the largest hit singles in Hip Hop history (In Da Club; not to mention Candy Shop was HUGE); with two classic albums under his belt (one not even with Dre/Aftermath); The Massacre was pretty good for my ears, got shitted on & the other two were clearly weaker, but not "absolute trash" by any means.

Before I Self Destruct started off awesome but the album fell off after track 9 lol; but it was a good vibe for the first nine songs, i'd look forward to a new 50 album if you told me it was going to sound like those first nine songs.

but yeah, the early 50 Cent was fucking raw & awesome; but we've all heard the same thing happen to Eminem; he lost that angry, raw, accented sound & now legit uses a forgien accent lol; rappers just lose that energy when they get to that iconic "billion dollar man" status.

he got his millions, but sold his soul.

the label won't let him drop what he wants because they know that grimey shit, even if it's amazing, won't sell.

it's the true downfall of rap. :-\

I'm counting that he quits interscope, make G-Unit records an independent label, and attempts to turn it into a major label.  That'll be the shit to see.

Come on, people change.

Can you really blame the man for that, of course he was much more hungry back then.

I think he'll focus on his movies for now, I think he took it as a hint, went his first weeks sales were less than 200 k, but for now it has pushed over 500 K since January, so I wouldn't exactly call it a complete flop, cause it's more than what 95 % of all other rappers will sell.

Only hiphop artists selling more than him is Jay-z, Eminem and Lil Wayne

I can see Drake putting up the numbers with his debut.

yeah, Drake's added to the list of Jay, Em & Wayne.

he sold a mixtape a year after he released online for free; his real album will sell lol.

it's such a shame that only four people & for the most part Kanye too, are the only ones who can push units.

Seeing 50 already got what he wanted, millions, he mine as well go back to doing somethang hard again, do a complete hardbody album a'gin. Shit.

In Da Club
21 Questions
PIMP
Candyshop
Outta Control
Disco Inferno
Just A Lil' Bit
I Get Money

& was a major part of Hate It or Love It, How We Do & So Seductive.

in the past decade, 50 has had some of the most major singles out there.

How are club tracks boring?  Y'all don't like to get it popping?

Mobb Deep's album was dope.  Heavily slept on because of the Unit association.

Young Buck fucked up his own career.

Banks just debut 76 on the hot 100.  For an independent artist without major backing that's good.

club tracks are awesome, but forced ones are wack.

like "Come & Go" or "Fire"; as far as 50's bangers go.

i'm assuming you mean as far as club bangers go; but i would say Outta Control easily; both the OG & the Remix.

i was a fan of Candyshop, Disco Inferno & Just A Lil' Bit too.

Get Up is better than his forced bangers, but it's "blah" to me compared to his big hits.

Naw, man.  I like Come & Go.  Something tells me that track wasn't finished.  It's missing an element in it's production and sounds like Dre should've droped a verse as it was originally promoted.

Fire isn't bad.  It's something different and kind of unexpected from 50 but I enjoyed it.

Both those songs are better than Amusement Park.

Amusement Park is probably the only real club track that I've felt 50 sounded horrible on.  Also, that auto-tuned chorus on TOS.

I Get Money should not be put in this category. Great track.

that order of 50's club tracks is pretty spot on. they all have something in common, all produced/mixed by dre.

couple of other great sounding singles to throw into the mix would 'straight to the bank' (ruined by the stupid hahaha) and 'best friend' (corny but great smooth beat)...

The recording sessions for Before I Self Destruct were the same ones that produced War Angel & Forever King.  They're also the same ones that produced Shut Your Bloodcot Mouth, Play This On The Radio, and 50 For President.  My issue is his song selection for the album's second half should have consisted of tracks that were on the street tapes.

Curtis's recording sessions produced non-album tracks like So Serious & Classic.  It also produced several G-Unit tracks like I'm On Some Shit, Coke Life, & Southside.

Yet there are many who said 50 been a wack rapper.

Pressure put 50 where he is at now. Yeah he had an hunger but he could grow and do different music and still be that dude, but he's been trying to outdo himself and it's always been can he do it again since "GRODT" cause he got so big in an instant. 50 fast success destroyed 50,, not his talent. The pressure to re-create the GRODT momentum clouded his focus.
Now the industry been fiending for such momentum they went and created one cause they know they'll never get a genuine one again, and he is Drake.
Crazy thing aout 50 is he knew when he will blew, predicted his sales, blowing up before actually doing so then foresaw his "falling off" by labeling it it BISD.

Yet there are many who said 50 been a wack rapper.

50 just lost his hunger and focus as an artist. His music today isnt bad,its just missing that IT factor that made him huge in the first place.

I more or less co-sign both of these statements.
