Title: Official Story Vs Evidence
Post by: nathan57 on April 06, 2010, 07:38:43 AM
All institutions, like governments, corporations, churches and the like, always provide 'their story' in any given situation or circumstance. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. They have every right to do so. But the 'official story' and evidence are not the same thing. It is important to recognize this and not confuse the two as the same. And sometimes, contrary evidence to the 'official story' is readily available and in plain sight.
The education system and dominant media program society to believe and accept the 'official story' and in many cases without presenting any evidence to support it. But anyone genuinely interested in the truth, also examines the evidence, to determine if it supports the 'official story'. Just as in a court case, a responsible and competent jury, doesn't just pay attention to the prosecutor's story, but it also analyzes the evidence, to see if it fits, the case before them. So, if the available evidence, clearly contradicts the 'official story', why should anyone continue to believe or accept the 'official story'?
The recent book by Michelle Alexander entitled 'The New Jim Crow' is a case in point:  http://www.democracynow.org/2010/3/12/part_ii_michelle_alexander_on_the     &     http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/03/08-6

Great post, very true. People are fed and believe such lies on a daily basis and have no idea. When it comes to getting your news and such, it is crucial to fact check for yourself to get a real understanding of a situation.

When u start doing that, u will see how so many things that u are bombarded with on a daily basis are complete bullshit.

Peace

Good post, but the method behind it is the big lie, after hearing a lie repeatedly said in exactly the same way, you stop resisting the lie and instead accept it. Some of the the official story's are some of the most ridiculous and unbelievable ideas you could ever dream of but of course there is comfort in establishing a principle of trust and so despite misgivings people accept the official story.
