Title: I feel like a dumb ass for asking but....

.....when you post something in a thread and you want to quote somebody else, how do you make it shaded?  I've been hitting the quote tag on top and I've realized it doesn't do what I want it to.  Which tag do I need to hit?

like you said press the quote button and then reply under there writing.  but don't forget to write under where it says quote after their writing

Try just to hit "Quote" button & then press  "Post" see how it comes out..

works for me maybe when you do it you delete something like a [ or something thats why yours doesn't turn out right..maybe? ???

When I tried to modify your post, I saw what you are doing wrong.
You just typed the quote-command and then wrote the quote AFTER the quote, while you're sposed to write the quote inbetween these: [.quote]QUOTE HERE[./quote]

It's much easier to hit the QUOTE-button on the top right of the post you want to quote, and then write after where it says Quote for the last time.

Oh....Right on man!  Yeah, I've been hitting the icon that has the quote bubble on it on the Add YABBC tags....Thanks for the help everybody!
