Need to check this out asap...my most anticipated release of the year so far
-
Pharoahe never disappoints, album bumps from front to back, and m-phazes in particular did his think on the production side of things...
Up there among the best of the year so far
-
His rhymes are awesome just never liked his beats unless he's on a feature....He keeps it real to that East Coast sound though which is loved by many.

I'm a big fan of desire, but I think as a whole this one is better....that song with immortal tech 8)

-
He's rap tehnique is amazing. but selection off beats are trash. Solid album.

I agree. Other than "Clap" the production is lackluster.

:D no thank you, sir :)
I already know I'm gonna like this so I might as well have my first impression when I hear it in the best quality available after unwrapping the CD while looking at the artwork - just like we old folks used to do back in the day *takes a sip of hot milk while rocking in his chair* :P
-
Dont know what yall niggas talking bout I thought all the beats was hot. What you expectin him to rap over DJ Khaled beats or something? Only beat he should have switched is Haile Selassie Karate. He should have gotten a Black Milk beat instead. And maybe added a couple Lee Stone beats just to give it that signature sound theyve had for years.

finally... 8)
6 tracks in, lovin what im hearin so far

It's good but for me it's his worst album. The album was consistent but nothing stood out either. I'd give it a seven out of ten

nah this is better than Desire, which was also a dope album

I agree. I never really got into it as much as this one. A little too experimental whereas this seems like him slowly goin back to pure rappin
-
Desire > W.A.R
This album keeps putting me to sleep. Not sure why.
-
If I want to hear Monch rap about real current events and all the foul shit in this industry I put in WAR. If I wanna hear him do Elvis Prestley impersonations(body baby anyone) Ill throw in Desire. Maybe if he put a song on here tryin to sound like aretha franklin you might have liked it a little more.
-
If I want to fall asleep listening to misinformation I'll put on WAR. If I want to hear some soulful music I'll put in Desire.
-
Dude is welcome to his opinion. But personally I'd rather fall asleep listening to desire. As you say, it gives off that soulful vibe I'd rather chill to.
-
Trying to insult someone by stating an obvious irrelevant fact is an insult to one's own intelligence and at least not to be taken seriously.
I went to see Pharoahe Monch on monday. Show was tight, I yet have to listen to the album.
-
If people get offended at being called what they are it kinda says something about how they view themselves. Call me an American all you want, but if you get hurt over being called European it pretty much means you're ashamed to be one.
When being insulted it's not the insult but the fact somebody is insulting you.
damn right ...you person!!!!
anyway ...
