DAMN IT'S NATE ON THE HOOK ?!!! Sly maybe 8) 8)
Shit is dope as fuck damn :o :o :o
-
Pretty sure that's not Nate, dope as hell though.. produced by Supa Dups & Eminem. 8)
-
Track is very cool. LOL @ the Niki Minaj line
-
Mite be I'm tired or this type of hip hop just bores me but zzzzz :-\
-
This shit is dope, definitely not Nate on the hook, shit is slick though
-
Damn, this is mad dope, hook is dope. Sound's like Sly 8) 8)
-
eminem finally sounds like he found that old 8 mile pitch level. none of that screaming or accent. neither of which are necessary band in doses but on a whole it tends to wear down
-
this is fucking dope
-
Outside of a couple of questionable Eminem lines, this is dope.
At least Em isn't screaming.
-
Pretty dope
-
Track is fire.

yeah good point... For some reason the screaming was awesome in his prime on tracks like "The Way I Am" or "White America" but it got to be way too much in the Recovery Era like "Love The Way You Lie" and "Airplanes".
...still I will say I prefer the screaming over the accent he used on Relapse
-
It goes beyond the screaming. He uses the same flow on every song. He even uses the same flow he's been using since Recovery on here. It's just he's not screaming, so it works.
His old songs with screaming were dope; one, because he was passionate about what he was saying & two, he used a different flow & showed a variety of flows on his older albums; it didn't all sound the same.
& like I was saying, he used to be screaming about not giving a fuck or a song with angry message like "The Way I Am", where now he's screaming about things he isn't angry over. He's just screaming for the fuck of it. Like "Almost Famous", no reason for that to be a screaming, angry song lol.

Royce used slaughterhouse to reunite with eminem
-
shit's dope

Royce used slaughterhouse to reunite with eminem
I don't know if you're serious, but I highly doubt that.
If Royce just wanted back with Eminem, even if he never joined Slaughterhouse, I think that would've happened.
Slaughterhouse just happened to fall into the right place.
& Royce & Em had history. Joe Budden said Eminem inspired him more than anyone & Em is his favorite rapper. Crooked I claims to be a huge Dre fan so he fits into the mix & Joell is an ex-artist of the same family label. It probably wouldn't of happened without Royce being there, but if Eminem looked at Slaughterhouse because of Royce, Royce alone could of gotten back with Em.
-
yeah this shit is tight!
-
Nah I don't seriously think he did the whole Slaughterhouse thing just to get Em's attention.
But!
I do think its kinda shay (no put intended) that SH signs with Eminem and the first project they start working on is a Bad vs Evil project.

I don't think it's shady at all. It's just two old friends that have been in the studio a lot together finally doing an album.

maybe im listening to a different song but i hear the screaming ???
-
lol at the guy who thought it was nate dogg. clean ur ears out son. unless it was recorded on his death bed lol
lol at the dudes saying em isnt shouting, because compared to his old flow, he is
the song is ok though and definitely better then eminem has done in a while, but lets not pretend both of them havent fallen off, because they have.
royce was my fav rapper until last year until he fell off HARD, and this song hasnt changed my opinion
-
fuck sly
-
sounds good

It's toned down with the yelling, but it's the same flow.
I disagree with the 8 Mile pitch level. The main difference between this & Recovery songs are that he isn't shouting. Otherwise, it's that stupid "I want one dope punchline" flow.
-
I don't know. I played it once and that was my initial reaciton. I don't really bump much eminem. I have to be in a mood to listen to him.

was gonna say the same thing.
-
fuck sly
He sounds like a hybrid of Nate and Timbo
-
I like sly. Why are some of y'all so caught up on him sounding like/being influenced by Nate?
-
I like sly. Why are some of y'all so caught up on him sounding like/being influenced by Nate?
because it's lame.
i already said that before nate died.
and now it looks even worse. don't bring up the tribute argument
-
I like sly. Why are some of y'all so caught up on him sounding like/being influenced by Nate?
His voice has a similar tone to Nates but he's got a different sort of style I reckon, I don't mind him.

this song, kush & underdog have clear nate dogg imitations
-
Fucking ill track!
-
Not a fan of either, but this song is nice.
-
I agree, fuck sly. Dude is trying to make a career off a dead man. Nate was on his death bad and this fag was copycatting the fuck outta him on "kush". I don't see how anyone can really like him. Warren G is gonna fuck that dude up one day lol
-
Dope, i'm lookin' forward to hearin' the EP. I think they should make a whole album though. I hope they get a Dre beat.
-
damn this is good. feeling the beat, strong timbaland vibe, bumps. eminem isn't too bad either, calmed it a little with the yelling.
edit: he didn't actually calm it much, still a lot of yelling going down.
-
lol @ the Dubcc community hating on Sly.

I would be flattered.
If Nate Dogg sounded like that & you guys thought he made, hands down, the greatest hooks ever, how can you hate on Sly? You guys need to stop liking & disliking things based off of a name & just fuck with the music being made.
-
The reality is Dr. Dre would most likely be fucking with Nate Dogg if he alive and healthy but due to his numerous strokes he was unable to work with him musically. Therefore, Dr. Dre being a huge fan of Nate Dogg & helped shaping that "nate dogg" sound, found someone with talents comparable to him. If you like a style and the duke who used to do it for you basically is dying, you're going to keep trucking on and find someone else. It's not disrespectful.

im not hating, just saying it's cheap.
don't you feel the same way when game does it?

i told you, don't come up with the tribute argument, that's bullshit.
if dre wanted nate on his song so badly, he could have sampled him or use pre-recorded vocals.
besides, dre never mentioned that he used sly to pay tribute to nate. no reference to nate in the video either.
also, dre was dissing ja rule for being fake, ironic?
look, dre probably didn't mean to disrespect nate with kush. he payed tribute to nate after he passed + he went to the funeral, so he obviously cares about him.
i just don't buy the tribute argument
Watch out for fake hits and bullshit that sounds identical
Pick it up, read the credits, who you thought it was?
-
pre-recorded vocals and sampling is only gonna get them so far. at the end of the day they have a chorus and need someone to sing it. nate hasn't been in any shape to work for quite a while and sly has that similar sound
-

sly was chosen for the similarities, im sure about that. but the tribute argument is bullshit

how do you know theyre trying to pay a "tribute" to nate? all you know is they sound similar which is obviously what they want
i dont think anyone involved with the tracks has come out and said theyre trying to pay a tribute to nate

i didn't say that, im saying sly was chosen for kush for the similarities. other people on here are saying that sly is paying tribute to nate. i was simply responding to that.
-
Track bangs, Slys hook is also good, nice to see someone is trying to bring back that Nate Dogg feeling to the music again...
-
Nice song. I never thought i'll be able to listen to Eminem again although i still find his voice quite irritating (and i liked his voice back in the days in SMLP and MMLP era).
As for the Sly.. I think some of you get to emotional. Yes...it's obvious he sounds like Nate but on the other hand i think it's good there is another talented singer in the rap game because good hooks is what the game lacks nowadays. He's new, so i hope he'll find his tyle soon. If he keeps imitating Nate Dogg then fuck him lol
-
I'm not saying Dr.Dre is using Sly as a tribute. I'm saying Dr.Dre is using Sly because he likes the sound which he helped craft with Nate Dogg. Sly can re create that sound. It's not complicated to figure out. He likes a particular sound, his once to go guy is dead and was unable to work when he was alive so Dr. Dre found another to-go-to-guy to recreate the sound.
-
So then dre is a complete hypocrite dissing others for being imitators while using one.

or use the sound in an attempt to sell his single
-
2nd verse is pretty dope, with the uptempo flows and passing the mic, etc.
Overall, song is decent.
And LMAO @ Royce saying he sold his soul. Not surprising at all.
