Title: 1 year later... "Flockaveli" still cranks front to back
Post by: BiggBoogaBiff on September 10, 2011, 10:50:05 PM
What can i say?  Waka put this shit in concrete with this 1.  I still feel tha same way i felt about it last year, 15 bangers and 2 fillers ("Bussin At Em" - and with respect to their opinions there's street niggaz who feel different about this song, maybe it was tha adlibs and tha hook.  And "Live By The Gun").

I don't really care what dubcc reggies think, clearly some of y'all are anti-BrickSquad and that's all fine and dandy really but "Flockaveli" is still 1 of the best albums (top 10 easy) this decade (2o1o-2o19) and it will probably stay that way for a while.  I ain't tryna short other niggaz but "Flockaveli" just captured 'it'.

"Flockaveli" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "Tha Carter IV" AND "Watch The Throne" EASY!  Truth be told, i think i might even go as far to say that this album is a classic just like all of tha classics before it.  It definitely has that aura and that sound to it so why can't it be.  I'd have to get back to ya'll in 5 years on that but i think that's a pretty fair assumption truthfully.

Just sounds like a bunch of screaming and "pop-pop" sounds to me..
The rest of the lyrics are just some on some random boasting gangster shit, like he's a fucking beast killing all of them.
The lyrics are repeated often in one song, and when he runs out of things to say he just fills it with "Waka, flocka, waka, flocka"..?

This is the kind of music that keeps the people in the U.S. retarded.

i think it's pretty safe 2 say that only me, 3rdcoast, and Screwface are gonna agree on this 1 smh.

15 BANGIN ASS SONGS (not including the 2 bonuses which crank) and 2 so-so's.  This board is pretty anti-south, definitely anti-bricksquad.  I mean all u have 2 do is look thru tha pages and you'll c it.

Not really my type of music but i think it's great that mentally challenged people have the same opportunities as others to become successful in the music industry.

You need to have your hip hop pass given back just so it can be revoked again.

The album ain't bad I admit enjoying it when it came out but after a week or 2 you realized that all the song sounds the same and it's just gutta music without no sense to it

Flockavelli was an instant fucking classic!

Man I'm known in the hood for making that blaka bark
You know, blaka, shoot first like John Starks
40 nights 40 days no Noah's ark
If we was living in water I'd be a shark
I'm in the front you in the back like Rosa Parks
Got heart like ehh where the fuck to start
Been in love with yellow diamonds since Gucci Bart

:D

Or something like that anyway just typed it down while listening. From "Snakes In The Grass".

Gucci Mane really has a Bart Simpson chain with yellow diamonds too lol.

Anyway Flockavelli is great.

I still like "Bang", "Homies", "Karma", and "Live By The Gun"

the rest got played out to me, but it still was some of the hardest new music that's come out in awhile to bang at the gym

This shit might as well be a Lil Wayne verse.

I realize that was supposed to be a diss but well.. let's be real here. Waka is good, but he's not as good as Lil Wayne. :D

Weezy is the master of wordplay, how he trips on multiple meanings of the same word and so on. But that's a discussion for another thread.

Oh and that Waka verse yeah sure it wasn't the greatest poem of all time or whatever but come on, it was a can't-be-bothered-to-count-how-many-line multi that referenced the NBA, another rapper, and the civil rights movement and can't even remember what else. I enjoyed hearing it. It most certainly wasn't "just rhyming n***a with n***a" like haters claim he does.

wordplay?  i guess nobody felt like i felt when he was tellin' his stories.  i can relate so much to "Flockaveli" i felt like that album was meant just for me.  when it came out it was like Waka took my soul and put it on protools.  he captured it all, it felt like he was speaking for my people/class just like how Boosie and Webbie were when they were first jumpin' off and havin their runs.  tha fact that "Flockaveli" has it's own unique sound (K.Y.E. and Lex must've been on LSD during tha sessions) that was clearly Southern but it was like on some future shit at tha same time.

there wasn't one multi in that pathetic verse. Nor was there a single decent line.

so what I got out of that last post is that Midwestdickryder is a 35 year old virgin Navaho (tried dodging the virgin part but didn't deny his age or Indian roots) and he's the biggest, toughest one of his tribe, and that he knows more about hip-hop and isn't stuck in '85 just cuz he happened to see a few newer rappers in person... oooh

just cuz I wanna see you cry again, I already seen Jay Rock twice (I saw that you wrote his name two times, either you saw him twice or just have a crush), Kendrick twice, Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, Tech N9ne, and I'm seeing Big K.R.I.T. in like 2 weeks for Smoker's Club

what you gotta say now you little pansy bitch, let some more of that estrogen out 8)

What I find funny is that if you take the Waka songs, subtract the beats and you got pointless rambling.
Sorry but that man has no potential of being huge, look at Souljaboy he had a buzz but now no one cares anymore.

I'll keep saying it, music like this will destroy the hoods in the US.
Listen to David Banner's Swag.

I have to agree. Waka has a very distinct voice and even though he is not a crazy lyricist, this album has a unique and cognate sound. I love working out to this album, it gives you a great state pump

i think Waka captured a moment in time in the life of a young black gangsta from tha street.  those types of albums come a dime a dozen but "Flockaveli" as a whole was something else.  Lex's sound has helped craft Hip Hop today.  It's already happened with everybody making their drums bigger/wider that bang harder and stand out more.

don't get it twisted i ain't sayin these niggaz invented tha game (that's disrespectful and just flat out wrong) but they wasn't ordinary wit it and they stand out and have influence.

2006/2008-2009 Gucci Mane
2010 Waka Flocka Flame/Lex Luger
2011 Lex Luger
*the rest of BrickSquad do they thing too.  they're killin shit just to kill it.  they might not be as visually present as they've been before these past few months but if you narrow down the vast amount of work they've done they're still not bad in the least.

who knows what that manz gonna do in 2012.  all i know is that "Flockaveli" goes deep #pause.

wordplay?  i guess nobody felt like i felt when he was tellin' his stories.  i can relate so much to "Flockaveli" i felt like that album was meant just for me.  when it came out it was like Waka took my soul and put it on protools.  he captured it all, it felt like he was speaking for my people/class just like how Boosie and Webbie were when they were first jumpin' off and havin their runs.  tha fact that "Flockaveli" has it's own unique sound (K.Y.E. and Lex must've been on LSD during tha sessions) that was clearly Southern but it was like on some future shit at tha same time.

I must have missed the Song about him working at Wendy's .

It's funny you writing this though. Consider the fact that people that love this album even call it mindless and ignorant. So this post is you admitting you're mindless and ignorant.

I was at the Smoker's Club a week ago and Curren$y brought my bitch up on stage... and not to mention this, SHE was the only girl he called on stage and he was the only rapper to do so... not even Fiend, Smoke DZA, Krit, or Meth

I just E-scalped your Navaho ass  8)

Yeah I get what you say. I´m not saying it´s solely because of that, but c´mon man.. I´m not trying to sound like a hater or whatever, but the rap game didn´t get any better because Waka came in the game. Just saying.
