Ohh Oww lol. I already know how this thread or topic will turn out..

A huge thread will go on until the album actually drops and then the thread will turn into
a thread about how disappointed they are with the album. After that it'll turn into a discussion about who Snoop should've worked with instead
(insert mostly 90's producers)...THE END.

What i'm tryna say is, don't let the title fool you. Don't be suprised if you see Katy Pery or whoever on there and maybe, just maybe, 1 or 2 tracks featuring/produced by some of Dubcnn's favorites.

yeah its the same old story with snoop.. most of us realize the potential he has to make a dope album, only eventually being let down with the final product.  Altho I will say Doggumentary was a pretty solid album.

Doggumentary was a pretty solid album but its one I usually skip through now.

Let's see Snoop do something at least as good as BCT. He's got the production team behind him, he just needs to dust off the cobwebs and get going!

Damn, how long has it been since "Doggumentary" came out? He should take his time with this new album. All he needs in my opinion is some good instrumentals and some dope guests, but not too many of them. Snoop Dogg never been that lyrical and he has good ghostwriters on his team, so that's not gonna be a problem.

his collab album with wiz was pretty good and probably put together quite fast. so if snoop got enough good material for another full record, why not. i'm not sure he minds about making classy albums as much as continually keeping himself out there.

p.s. hope he grabbed a track or two for himself recently from dr detox.

I truthfully found "Black Carpet Treatment" overrated. It had the dream track list but it sounded better on paper than it did coming through the speakers. Not say it wasn't good but I found "Doggumentary" way better.

I hated doggumentary. Maybe 2-3 good songs, rest was garbage. Blue carpet treatment was decent. Having more then five good songs makes it better then half of snoops albums. That's why it gets called one of his better albums. It's not a reflection of how good blue carpet treatment, but rather how bad snoops discography is.

I agree, but at least BTC is bumpable all the way through. I meant it as a target for that sort of quality.

Iam always glad when theres a new Snoop album on the way. MIW was the only one that really disappointed me. Yeah just dont put too many songs that dont fit together songs on there like on ego trippin and doggumentary.

I think Doggumentary worked with its rich mix of sounds. Just was lacking a bit lyrically (was still a step up on Malace)

There's no buzz around this album tho, there's no momentum.  It's just a new Snoop Dogg album dropping, in 2012.  What's supposed to be the rage about it, who's supposed to care.  I don't even really care and I'm a fan (and have been 1 for LIFE!).  Some of ya'll are right, all it is is going to be another album that features people like Katy Perry and Mindless Behavior, it's going to have Bootsy Collins all over the place, then you're going to have the experimental Southern sounding song that features Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, or TI.  The lyrics are going to be corny, the flows are going to be horrible, and it's going to be a very boring album overall with only 1 or 2 good songs on there.

Ain't like the whole thing's recorded & mixed & mastered & ready to hit the pressing, digital outlets & record stores around the world after a whole bunch of preview music videos already dropped along with half the tracks of the end product as well as the now usual/ mandatory mixtape with the left-overs/ harder tracks & rmx's... OR did I miss all of that good crap? IF comes that moment in time, there is no feedback, fan & media response & net buzz, THEN I'll agree there's no momentum & THEN might be the time for Snoop to move on to something else or retire altogether.
But NOW? Are you serious bro?

Not even to mention that today's "big names" & biggest sellers have nothing on good ol' Snoop if you ask me! The Waynes & Rosses & all? Thanx! But NO THANX!

What gets me is how come Dr. Dre can get all of these people in one room but Snoop can't.  He has access to the best artists and the best musicians along with beat makers and DJs but can't strike it out of the park (Project Pat just did that with a lot of undiscovered producers from Memphis and his Co Star Nasty Mane.  Its definitely pretty good).  Snoop is gettin fatigued and Niggaz like Jay Z and Birdman still prove to stay above the elite.

He's still got that star power going for him tho.  He needs somethin hot tho, a movie, take his football league games and put them on ESPN or ABC   #2cents

he shouldn't have to retire. no matter how old he or any other hip hop artist gets. this is the only form of music that disposes an artist so quick yet you have people praising the beatles and other rock groups up in age. snoop just need to get rid of the yes men and make good music.

No one told John Lee Hooker to stop performing well into his 70s/early 80s. He kept doing his thing.

Most of Snoops life has been spent doing music. Why should that change?

If pops like Jagger & Richards, Ozzy Osbourne & all the grandpas of Rock can still go at it today, why wouldn't Snoop have another 20 years ahead of him? So long as he's healthy enough to tour & most important so long as he ENJOYS doing it! & June Bug certainly is inspirational for Snoop!

Your point just isn't valid, or comparison to me as an 'old' LMFAO over 30.

So was George Clinton too old at 50 to be working on the Chronic and Doggystyle?

Rick Ross has better rhymes and uses better beats than current Snoop.

If Snoop's gonna put out a decent album he needs a much better ghostwriter. He's just not interesting to listen to anymore. His lyrics are on some Waka Flocka level.

I honestly find it hard to be bothered about any new Snoop material these days.  I have most of his albums and rate him as one of my favourites but I think it's time he stopped dropping albums.  He has around 1000 songs and features at this point, what more is there to rap about?!

He should use Detox as his swan-song, much like he was introduced on the Chronic.  I think that would be a good look for him.  And then he can carry on doing concerts and other appearances etc.

the point is, if he cared about all the important topics to talk about, he could have started this years ago. but most of the time he is repeating himself in a very uncreative way. I mean it's not like E-40 or Too $hort say anything new these days, but they are creative with it and funny. If Snoop doesn't want to make statements, he should at least try to be more entertaining.

It's a shame Snoop don't make more songs like 'Love Don't Live Here' - u only need one song with impact like that on an album to get some depth without bein preachy. 'Murder Was The Case' gave Doggystyle a dimension beyond just random g-shit tacks n skits..

another okay album on the way, cut the hair, get a very good ghostwriter, stop acting like your still 20 years old and i may care
why would he have to cut his hair ?

must be a black thing but a 40 years old man with cornrows looks weird to me
he doesn't have to have cornrows at 40 and still keep his hair.

Another " this album would have been great if Snoop cut it down to those 13 tracks" thread on the way ..

Snoop is done and should retire ... plus I don't see the point of making BS poppy music since his last two albums sales have been terrible( even by today's standards)

he doesn't need to, to appeal to who ? snoop is snoop. i agree he need to strengthin' his music game but he's a gangsta rapper. and busta fell off.

dreads/pony/long hair,, not cool, when ur old as hell. n his hairline will climb up his forehead in due time. not a good look

n if u compare "fell off" wit Busta Rhymes, Busta is still lightyears ahead of Snoop in objective talent as an artist, writer and mc/lyricist.

So Mike,

You're only comfortable following a 41 year old rapper if he 'dresses right'

This guy!!^^ ::)

I don´t blame his age but the lack of interest in music . he´s in it only for the money so of course he decides to go the pop route . everything´s done ready for him , he just needs to go to the booth to lend his voice and get on tv to perform his character.
