Title: I GOT A JOB!!
Post by: OutSider on February 22, 2003, 07:45:07 PM: yep.. pinky is going back to work... and thank you jesus it wasnt burger king... or mickyDs... it is little pizza place about 3 mintues away from my pad.. and 6.50 plus tips.. oh yeah... the owner is super cool ... so it is all good... This place is basically our hang out spot to make plans on what to do that evening.. the owner took a likely to me because i seemed down to earth and didnt really bother anyone.. and of course had four years of leadership training behind me... hehe.. i am SO HAPPY!! Not that many places are looking to hire students... but he schedule me to work nights... had to make some changes in other peopls schedule.. but he did it... hehe.. dont mind me... i am just glad i finally got hired somewhere that was able to work with my school schedule!! ;D :D

yeah but other pizza places it is only 6 bucks an hour to work.. and they tax your tips... so.. this place is actually a good place to work.. if you are into making pizza... i apply for this place called Blinkies... the girl was telling me.. waitresses only get 6.. i was like damn.. that sucks.. and the tips werent that great... of course when i was working at taco bells.. i wasnt allowed to keep my tips at all....

not if you are a waitress.. because you have you tips too.. and also if the owner wants to be a prick.. he can tax your tips too... so at 6.50... i am not complaning. better the 6 bucks..

i get 13 an hour...im 19...n when i was 16 i got 11.41 :P

i'm starting to get sick of working there now because all the cool people who worked there are either getting married and going off to find more mature jobs. or graduating college and getting better jobs soon :( and all the new people coming in are either foriegners or people who are straight up anti social

normal "student" wage in sweden lays at 10 bucks/hour...(but they cut 10% more tases than usa though, but its still more)...

i work as a basketball referee (so dont argue with me about basket-rules ;))... i work around 6 hours saturdays and 6 hours sundays.... i get around 140-150 bucks / week... .. i dont tax them cash.... :)

ay SGV what job do u do? thats a decent ass wage. theres nowhere here that pays that much unless you got a degree or a bunch of experience

actually... no.. everything is more expensive in the us (exept elctronical equipments)... but when it comes to food, clothes etc etc, sweden have lower prices

Ok, Sweden maybe, but that's because of the E.U.

Here in Norway prices are almost twice the prices in the U.S. is.. with some exceptions.
And alcohol & tobacco is 100-300% more expensive.

ill run down my jobs for ya

15-16(worked there for about 8 months) Tower Records...only as a student worker...i didnt get no money for it....

16(about 9 months cuz it was seasonal) Census 2000 in Pomona...did Document Preparation...just opened envelopes..got 10.43 for it...then got promoted to Data Entry and ended at 13.03...i kinda tried to average them in my other post...lol

17(about 3 weeks) some lame Interviewing place...lol...got minimum there...that was my low point

17(about 2 Months) the S.G.V. Tribune doin telemarketing...another low point...minimum wage

17-18(1 year a few months) Sears..coo job...did Customer Service...then they flipped it and made it retail...thats when it got wack...started at 8 bucks...ended at 9.50

18-19(been there since December of 02) Kaiser Permanente in Baldwin Park...i just kick it basically...fuck with Files n shit...kick back as fuck...get 13 and some change...

and i can only go higher workin at Kaiser!!

the tax is not 7% in usa... its 22-25%
