Title: Kabul Has Been Captured
Post by: TheSheriff on November 13, 2001, 06:21:25 AM
Taliban forces have been pulled back to positions round Kandahar, and NA Security troops have taken control of Kabul. Now the worry we need to take into account is if the former King wants the Tajik/etc NA out of his capital city and if he wants Pashtun dictatorship...He's made it clear previously that his own agents, based out of Pakistan, won't help the NA in defeating the Taliban.

Anyways, congrats to Abdullah Abdullah and the former President, whatever his name was. Masood can rest now.

I'm just glad to here that many of the citizens there are happy about the takeover, this shows that america is not just doing it for America, but for the people in Afghanistan.

UPDATE: Jalalabad has fallen in the east of the country, Konduz to the north is under seige, and there have been Pashtun uprisings in Kandahar province(controlled by the PASHTUN Taliban)...This, coupled with advances by NA forces place the Taliban stronghold under immense threat.

3000 British troops(including my honorary brother-in-law)are being prepped for peacekeeping and humanitarian missions, as are French, German and American troops.
