yo, i don't mean to brag but i FINALLY got the money to buy any one of these systems but i REALLY need your opinions on this seriously, i really want ps2 but i'm also interested in x-box and gamecube.
ps2- has QUALITY, plays DVD,CD,PS1,PS2, also has a reputation for being sucessful(just look at ps1 compared to sega saturn), and its a gamers dream imo not to mention if you have DVD-RW, you can burn ps2 games, ps1 games, dvd and play it on you ps2
x-box-don't know much about this except that i heard you can also play games on the internet with this, also has a DVD, and supposed to be 3X more powerful than ps2, but i don't trust microsoft when making video systems(you never know they might fail quick) and japanese people make better stuff imo
gamecube-nintendo has a good reputation i guess but i felt that ps1 was better than 64, this is cheaper since no DVD, and i don't think you can burn games because look at the damn CD its small as fuck but i might be wrong
anyways, can you guys help me out by giving or correcting my info and give thoughts on your opinions?

Here are my views since I've recently been thinking about this
PS2- This is Sony and Sony never backs out of anything, the ps2 has been out a year now and now we are starting to see the true games come out for it... ICO, GTA3, MGS2, and more... they also hold a variety of different types of games for different age level, in my opinion the ps2 is the way to go...
Gamecube- The reason N64 didn't succeed as much as sony is because of their games... they remake and remake differen't mario worlds, mario karts, kirby dreamlands, zeldas and so forth that the people who were with them back when it was super nintendo and nintendo don't have any new material.. think about that... your 25 years old and still trying to play a kiddie game.. nintendo has this reputation to bring out KIDDIE games... if thats what you like then cool, but you're not going to see anything awesome from them... they are the least of the three in my opinion
Xbox - looks promising... so did the dreamcast... if you're looking for a long term system, I wouldn't pounce on this... why? Yes, the games look good and so forth, but will Microsoft back it up... will they be able to compete with Sony, who I believe are the strong winners in the gaming world... i'm not sure... for the last 10 years... only two companies can really hold down the gaming world... now we have three, i think we are going to see the fall of one of them... i hate to say it, but i think its nintendo... xbox is like the dreamcast... people will want it, they will buy it, but hopefully they won't stop making them like sega did...
I've seen all these systems play as well... and i still think Sony is the best over them all.... I played that damn luigi game on gamecube... it sucked... the system itself is small...it could fit in the palm of your hand... and im geing serious there too...not that size matters, but the game itself look re-hashed and not fun... I played Oddworld and Shrek on the Xbox... nothing really special, they are bringing games for different age ranges so I see success in them, but i don't think the PS2 will have to worry, if i were you, I would buy a ps2... get GTA3... and MGS2 in a few weeks... you'll be happy...nba2k2 is also coming out for the ps2... check for that as well... i just think sony is controling the game in the gaming world... i would buy a ps2.

xbox, the ps2 has the best library of games ever??the launch games for xbox are better than all of ps2 games,you dont need to buy a memory card to save for xbox,since it has a hardrive,you can copy cds to the harddrive and listen to em while playin games,more powerful than ps2 and gamecube,it plays DVD's in better quality than ps2,i could go on and on bout it
and GTA3 will come out for xbox too,so dont waste yur money on a ps2 or gamecube,get a xbox

Dreamcast is shit. PS2 really hasn't come out with some really apealing shit (to me at least) yet, and 64 had the worst contol ever.
The thing is, usually when the old systems go out, you trade in all your shit for the new stuff. All that money you bought for Nintendo stuff, and then the Super Nintendo came out. Many people sold the Nintendo shit for less then half what they bought it for so they could get the SNES, only to repeat the whole thing when the N64 and/or PSX came out. But with the PS2, you could still play all the good Playstaion games. That alone is worth it. When the PS2 comes down to 4200, i'll but it.
Oh, Mario Kart 64 was the SHIT!!!!!!!

i could go on and the truth is, the games that are coming out for the ps2 are amazing... xbox... yuck... the only thing that the xbox has that ps2 doesn't is a Shrek game...

X Box come with a hardrive.. you can save shit on to it... no need for a memory card. You can download your music on to your XBox and make soundtracks for you games incase you dont like backround music already on the game.
X Box Launch Games:
Halo - I dont think anything on PS2 can fuck with this game.
DoA2 - Best fighting game ever, even better then Tekken.
NFL Fever 2002 - Look almost just as good as Madden (And if you dont think so, then just buy Madden 2002 for Xbox cuz it's gonna be on there too.)
Project Gotham Racing - Nice Graphix
OddWorld Munch's Oddeseys
Raw Is War - Shit looks almost real, for all you wrestling fans.
....... and those are just the ones I'M interested in. Already 6 pretty tight games on the FIRST DAY!

The cords on the Xbox controllers 9.5 feet long.. makes it better when you and all your homies are kicking back playing some shit.
I know Sony's a big ass company and they're gonna back up the PS2... but Microsoft aint Sega either. They got bank! And there's no question about Xbox being the most powerfull system out there... it offers more than PS2. PS2 just gots a bigger reputation. GameCube aint got shit on either of them, only reasong GameCube has a chance is because it costs $100 less.... Xbox costs the same as a PS2 but you get more of your money's worth.. I say go with XBox

I think ps2... even when the come out with a ps3 they will probably let you play their older games on the system... like they did with the ps2, so your old games won't change and.... for those who say the Xbox has a hardrive... so does the ps2, you just have to buy it seperately.

it beats the pants off of the xbox's hard drive which only has 10 gigs of storage... the ps2's has 40 gigs of storage!

i just brought ps2 2day, i have a question on how u position tha sysytem, i heard if u put tha system wit tha ps2 part facin up it burns out fast, so u have to put it on its side, this is proberly a stupid question but i just spent $300 of my own money so i dont want it to go to waste

ok then... buy the PS2 for $299 and then buy the Disc Drive seperately for $140..
I just rather get it all at once with an XBox for $299.. that's just me though

i really don't play video games much and i had the playstation 2 when it first came out ( i got it for like 50 bucks the first day it came out) and sold it on ebay for 500, so i never got to play it but they had a thing here downtown not too long ago where it had all the new game systems and shit and i was board so i decided to check it out
ps2-i loved it the graphix and shit was great the controler is tight is easy to use and NOBODY can touch them when it comes to sports games....no body
x-box-this was fun too, really the quality of it is just the same as ps2, only difference is the games , i didn't like the games since all i ever play is sports games and like i said no body is touching ps2 when it comes to sports games, but if you like the adventure and rpg stuff, and moderatly like sporting games, this is for you
game cube-i wasn't really impressed with this at all , it's just n64 all over again except different packaging, but if you liked what n64 had to offer you'll like this but if you were more of a playstation person (like me) you'll hate it

just a little notice .. a high quality console game (ps2, xbox and dreamcast) dont use more than 300-500mb for a complete game, witch means you would be able to store 20-30 games on the xbox drive ... i think thats more than enough...
by the way ... i remember checking out Halo 6 month ago, and it's gonna be the best game ever .... the graphix will be untuchable, but the best thing with the game is natural it is ... the trees can be deformed... the car makes marks on the grass...everything is smooth... no cutting edges like on other games .....
if y'all have seen max payne, y'all know how dope it is ... but Halo will have 5x doper graphix

No... you dont download music from the net... you uppload YOUR music.. like from your cd's and stuff onto the XBox... so you wont have to put it on mute and listen to you discman, you can put your music on the game's soundtrack and just hear your music from the XBox while playin the game.

Considering no other console besides the GameCube is getting ROGUE SQUARDON 2(this game alone is worth getting this system) I'm getting a CUbe for $199. No DVD playback? WHo the hell cares, I watch DVD's in my DVD player anyway. Oh and I'll get a PS2 when the price drops.
1) You can't front on Nintendo's 1st and 2nd party games(and yes they are trying to get rid of being labeled a kiddie system with a more mature library this time around) 2.) You can't front on PS Library period 3.) EVery console will eventually have online gaming and hard drives. Go to IGN.com for more detailed info on each system to make your decision.

PS2 has a few games I'm interested in, same with the Xbox. But most of the games I want are coming to the Gamecube. Regardless of what anyone says, I KNOW the new Mario game's gonna be tha shit. Not to mention PD0(Perfect dark zero), tha new Mario kart game, and many other great franchises.... ;D
So IMO, Gamecube is mos def. the best out of tha three. That's just my opinion tho'... ::)

I played Xbox and thought it sucked... it's the same as the ps2 only it comes with a HD... you should just go to a video game store and try them their, I don't care if you buy an Xbox, but I love my PS2... has Sony ever failed?
I just don't wanna play an xbox game and see an Illegal Operation error come up... that's all

and a couple months down the line the graphics will be a lot better than ps2,the only games you have to compare with ps2 are launch games for the xbox,and you say they are just as good as ps2's games,i think thats pretty good considering they were rushed a lil so theyd be ready for the xbox launch

the xbox's hard drive holds 10 gigs of space ,i told you that the game disks themselfs hold over 8 gigabytes(about 10) sorry if i confused you lol
